When the Fed withdraws that support, the underpinning of those assets disappears. If the economy has not recovered, and there is little prospect it will, then the house of cards collapses.

That's why a lot of people think there will be QE 3, and QE 4....., with Congress adopting austerity. The Fed could end up having to go fiscal and buy assets other than tsy's as it did in QE 1. There is even speculation whether the Fed will end up buying equities.

This is one reason that gold and oil are going through the roof. People are getting increasingly antsy about holding USD.Tom Hickeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08454222098667643650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2761684730989137546.post-60564952660769695072011-04-06T06:18:06.240-04:002011-04-06T06:18:06.240-04:00the only real 'problem' exit strategy I ca...the only real 'problem' exit strategy I can see is the one that applies to long positions in commodities and other risk assets....not the Fedapjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06863911390664933484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2761684730989137546.post-90835078456398525832011-04-05T21:25:19.168-04:002011-04-05T21:25:19.168-04:00Yeah, it's not in their paradigm.Yeah, it's not in their paradigm.mike normanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03296006882513340747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2761684730989137546.post-53065092220228218312011-04-05T19:56:24.896-04:002011-04-05T19:56:24.896-04:00They know that or have forgotten it maybe. This is all about wealth transfer to the so-called productive people from "the eaters."Tom Hickeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08454222098667643650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2761684730989137546.post-41750244472258800212011-04-05T19:14:21.421-04:002011-04-05T19:14:21.421-04:00Tom,
