Amazon is the new Sears of retail - a real behemoth but terribly run and just can't keep up with encroaching competition anymore. I wonder how long before they break off the retail from the rest of the company as it begins it's terminal decline.

I think there is a certain generation of 40 and overs, that like Sears before it, are incredibly loyal to it despite the obvious failures to keep up with a changing world and increasing competition. Similar to Sears, they are using "prime" with silly loss making gimmicks to keep people engaged. Now that their Tax evasion scheme has fallen apart, there is no reason to shop at Amazon with their high prices. Just like Sears had successful business like NTB, DieHard, Kenmore etc, Amazon is keen with AWS, Alexa, pretty much everything besides retail. It's going to be an epic long slide to oblivion if they don't get rid of Bezos and change course.
Ryan Harrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04815033054435303399noreply@blogger.com
