How the Russians deal with Muslim extremists

"...Russia's "policy of state terror," a shadow war against violent Muslim separatists in the North Caucasus, a strategic crossroads of Europe and Asia.

A central tactic in the war, activists say, is forced disappearances — the brazen snatching of young people from their homes or off the street, often by gangs of masked men who move freely, even in areas heavily patrolled by Russian military and police. The pace of forced disappearances has doubled in the past year, following a spike in militant attacks on police and authorities, including suicide bombings, ambushes and assassinations."

Something to think about as we give terrorists full legal protections under the Constitution here in America.

  2. If we'd stuck to more of Carter's energy conservation policies, Bush 41 would've been much less compelled to station troops in Saudi Arabia in 1990. After Desert Shield began, bin Laden, who the US once supported, then declared himself an enemy of the US for stationing troops in a muslim country.

OPEC was on the ropes in '86 when the reversal of some of these policies helped resuscitate it.

The best way to deal with this vast muslim anti-US conspiracy is to stay out of their parts of the world and leave them alone.

Mike S., nothing would make ME happier! But for me it would have to also include moving away/off petroleum towards biofuels/NatGas/PHEVs so as to preferrably have no financial dealings with them also. I think we could do it if $80/bbl looks like the best price they can provide; other forms of fuels are very profitable at that level from what I understand.

  4. I'd like to point out :

Very popular lebanonese restaurants and food stores IN THE USA contain foods that are from Lebannon which may or may not profit Hezbollah.
