Between doomsayers and futurists, those of us who believe civilization will 'muddle through' are a minority. We don't make headlines.
ReplyDeleteThe world muddles through between catastrophes. The catastrophes are more frequent than people like to admit and they shape pretty much everything. The muddling softens the edges and creates a sense of reality and stability that is rapidly destroyed and reset in one wild instant. But if ignoring the punctuation and focusing on the letters helps you to read, well then, we all need our little fictions to get us through the day.
