Metaphor Alert!
Now its "termites in the basement!" from these of the unqualified.
Bad economics but brilliant persuasion, which is the objective in such case. It's all about sewing FUD — fear, uncertainty and doubt.
ReplyDeleteBut if you are too late in dealing with a termite problem, there is only one solution.
ReplyDeleteFumigation tent over the whole thing?
ReplyDeleteCockroaches in government and in academia would be the correct framing.
ReplyDeleteFumigation cannot repair the structural damage. The solution is to torch the building. Or demolish, then torch.
ReplyDeleteAnd when it's a case of purely nominal termites in an actually sound basement?
ReplyDeleteSounds like someone intent on benefiting from insurance fraud. :(
After all, what's a meta for?
