  1. I wonder if Google will take down MNE since it doesn't adhere to only orthodox news media content.

  4. Speaking of Russians, I like their new war movie "T-34".

I recommended it to my brother who works in the MIC but he hasn't written back!

Are things so bad that liking a Russian movie is hazardous to one's security clearance?

If this site were inciting violence or conspiring to overthrow the government, then, yes, Tom, you'd be "on the radar"... and rightly so.

Also, Tom, since I have your undivided attention ... :) The only worries this site would ever have, in addition to above-mentioned, were if the shameless, lifelong drifter Trump had gotten his wish and section 230 were repealed. Why? Because, as you well know, the owner of this site would be liable for the commentary posted regardless if said owner disagreed with said commentary.

As for the shit-stain and anti-semite Steve Bannon, he is associated with Trump and the Trump administration. And for the last two months he's been spreading baseless election fraud claims and inciting violence. That is why the piece he was banned. Should have been done months ago. (btw, no First Amendement issue here either.)

I just watched the Russian science fiction movie (1972) "Solaris" a couple of months on TCM, an American channel. Great movie, and way better I thought than "2001: A Space Odyssesy" (who am i kidding, 2001 is freakin' unwatchable). So, no, things aren't that bad.

  11. I think Twitter is trying to eliminate that Tom with their “blue checks” thing...

Right there you can see they are trying to create ‘user classes’ which the open systems standards typically don’t support...

Users are users... with open systems...

  12. “Blue checks” are a user class.. no bueno...

  13. This is a relatively new technology and new cultural phenomenon. It's going to take some time to figure it all out. Lots of rough edges now.

The worst case scenario is that government steps in with a heavy hand.

  14. It's really an issue of balancing freedom and responsibility, and the problem is that the behavior is overwhelmingly adolescent — all freedom and no responsibility.

  15. I would not be at all surprised if we learn that Bannon were good buddies with the “Camp Auschwitz“ guy.

  16. At present it's "terms of service," and that is pretty broad and arbitrary. Internet firms depend on advertising so they set their criteria largely on that basis, as well as to avoid stepping over lines that might mean imposition of tighter government regulation.

A resolution is not obvious or it would probably be in place already.

  17. They are lefty Tom... class obsessed...

It’s Marxism synthesized with the OSI protocol stack..,

  18. “This is a relatively new technology and new cultural phenomenon”

LOL Tom those are two separate things.., only Art Degree trained people would think to try to synthesize them... This is a relatively new technology and new cultural phenomenon

  19. This is a relatively new technology and new cultural phenomenon

The new tech that underlies social media proliferation has produced the cultural shift. It's a matter of entering deeper into the digital age and feeling the way. Huge psychological and sociological changes leading to political and economic changes. The digital world and analog worlds are different worlds.

    He’s Jesuit trained ...

No MMT fan though he’s more like Mike with the UBI: “ In 2019, Dorsey contributed financially to the campaigns of Democratic 2020 presidential candidates Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang.[87]

In 2020, he donated $15 million to 29 mayors pursuing the piloting of guaranteed basic income programs in the United States.[88]”

    Probably biased anti-war...

Almost guaranteed Biden will start another war or at least expand current ones. He is a Wilsonian and Trump was a Jacksonian, and I supported DJT in that and will ceaselssly oppose Biden's Wilsonianism.
