There so fancy we're only supposed to use them on special occasions. She says the German quality in knives is second to none. I says nonsense: Japanese knife manufactures are even better... they use Toyota technology. Can't beat that!

lastgreekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00354740659933239445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2761684730989137546.post-27514144446859745412021-04-19T17:53:50.592-04:002021-04-19T17:53:50.592-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.lastgreekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00354740659933239445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2761684730989137546.post-25647124839282664332021-04-19T16:06:39.181-04:002021-04-19T16:06:39.181-04:00Not just China. I have non-Chinese friends in Singapore and they tell me it is "Chinese," not Chinese national but ethic Chinese, and there is a glass wall if you are not Chinese. Some occupations are closed unless one knows Chinese.

I assume this is also largely true in Chinatowns around the world. Anecdotally and through experience, I know it also true with respect to at least some Koreatowns.

I dated a Japanese woman many years ago. She let me know she was upperclass. Her father came from a samurai family. He lost his life in WWII as a kamikazi pilot on a suicide mission against the US Navy. She was proud of it, not sorry. Ironic, since I was a UN naval officer at the time. Anyway, nice lady but it didn't work out when I came to realize that she was prejudiced against white people. There is practically so immigration into Japan either.

Bias apparently exists everywhere, cultural, ethnic, class, caste, etc. That affects immigration. Even though Russia as a lot of territory and could take a lot more people, it is very selective about immigration.

While the West is more open to it, it is not without issues either. Most populations prefer population expansion mostly driven from within.Tom Hickeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08454222098667643650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2761684730989137546.post-23724476500802069502021-04-19T10:23:38.614-04:002021-04-19T10:23:38.614-04:00I think it's more like noone wants to go to Ch...I think it's more like noone wants to go to China.
