Out of paradigm, but true in that the presumed transmission mechanism from saving to investment is false. It will instead increase economic rent and drive up asset prices, increasing costs for most people. David Stockman admitted that the rationale intentionally manufactured as a ruse to justify ideological policy and fool the rubes.

At least they've moved away from trying to pull this off under the "shared sacrifice" meme; thanks, in large part, to OWS reframing the issues and discussions. But now it's being presented under the guise of "trust me".
I'm already so disgusted with it all, I'm simply going to keep track of the number of cease-and-desist orders they are going to receive from musicians when deciding on a campaign theme song. I predict the Romney/Ryan ticket will ultimately settle on a Ted Nugent or country music song no one's ever heard of.
I now that I think of it, let me add this:
I have Extreme Centrist (a term I think coined by Krugman) fatigue. This notion that both sides of any debate employ mirror image levels of rhetoric, spin, and agenda-setting. That the difference needs to be split exactly down the middle which places us further and further to the right on the political spectrum.
Ok, FINE, criminalize abortion, but can we please keep birth control pills? Yes, you really did build that all on your own, the rest of us are just taking up space; in fact, we worship you, so instead of more massive tax breaks for you, can you only slash entitlements by a little amount? Papa John's has to increase the price of his pizzas by 11 cents to pay for Obamacare? We see your point, repeal Obamacare, but can we keep the 2-for-1 special? A gun control discussion is sorely needed in this country, but in light of the recent mass shooting sprees, we really need to be respectful of all the victims and their families.

Haha, JK. I was actually half joking (kinda), but this could turn out to be a serious project. And I consider that op-ed a preemptive cease-and-desist order.
I was initially recalling Michele Bachmann and her brief campaign, which I followed from its inception. I remember counting at least 3, with her ultimately settling for some obscure country song. Curious as to what they were, I did a quick search. Turns out this has historically been a problem with the GOP:
