BBC: The Views of 3 UK MPs of Russell Brand

Article at the BBC which provides some commentary by three MPs in light of the nascent popularity of comedian Russell Brand's political and socio-economic observations:
Tim Loughton, Conservative MP for East Worthing and Shoreham
[Russell Brand is] deeply destructive, actually. Watching that interview with Jeremy Paxman he's very amusing, very articulate, but it's deeply destructive, the influence on young people who think, "Gosh, Russell said we shouldn't bother to vote, let's not vote". The way not to get [turnout] to improve is to say, it's all a waste of time and to go on the champagne anarchist ego trip that Russell Brand is on. That really doesn't help.
Margaret Hodge, Labour MP for Barking
When I started addressing those issues that really concerned them, I connected with local people, I started to build trust, and I then got people voting again and voting for me, and seeing off [2010 BNP general election candidate for Barking] Nick Griffin. Whilst Russell Brand may be right to be fed up, the answer is not revolution.
Menzies Campbell, Lib Dem MP for North East Fife
[Russell Brand showed] a real lack of self-awareness: everything's wrong, but absolutely no suggestions as to how it would be put right. If Russell Brand were the prime minister, imagine what kind of country it would be - if you possibly can.
I'd note that neither side in this matter has any solutions.  As Brand points out, the current policymakers have no solutions, as evidenced by our current outcomes, but imo as these MPs point out, Brand doesn't have any solutions either.

What WE are left with is WE are watching two factions neither of which has any solutions complaining that neither has a solution... i.e. a textbook moron-fest.

WHO has the solution?  More importantly WHO has the critical knowledge to create the solutions?

WE DO!

  1. Matt,

Great post. That's why I love MMT- we don't just bitch and complain, we have real, attainable solutions to the modern political economy. The trouble is just getting people to listen...

  2. I would like to ask what happened to the voters that put their trust in Nick Clegg — and Barack Obama. It was a farce and people are tried of getting taken by shills for TPTB and who cave to TINA.

These people don't get why Occupy has no "demands" and Brand is saying that voting is waste of time. Or maybe they do and are trying to continue the charade to dupe the rubes. Young people are a lot smarter now, and they are just saying no to BS as usual.

  3. Voting won't help until we have an electorate that has some idea of what it wants and what our true options are.

The biggest thing we can do as non-voters is to not vote (with our dollars) for companies that are undermining our best interests.

  4. Russell Brand is correct. Walk away. "Leave to Caesar what is Caesar's". Don't give the system any legitimacy by participating. Avoid and ignore them. That is what Jesus did. That is why he never visited to the Hellenized Roman towns of Roman occupied Judea. He completely avoided them and the Roman imperial system they belonged to. Without us their imperialist system of lies privilege corruption theft and mass murder collapses.

  6. Mika,

Correct that is what He commissioned Paul to do... (thank God!)

Just speaking for myself at least I can assure you that I am not an Israelite disciple in any way shape or form....

In these matters I learn through rote processes via Paul, vice some sort of 'disciple making' process that the Lord directly used with the 12 and the house of Israel...

You can give up if you like that just makes my vote worth more...

Civil govt is the only earthly institution we of the nations have through which we can utilize the authority we have been given in this era to impose justice.

We exhibit our subjection to this authority by paying taxes back to the authority that first spent it into circulation in the first place (Romans 13 and 'be paying Caesar's to Caesar...')

'The church' so-called has ZERO authority to deal with any of this injustice we see... Its either civil govt or nothing ie chaos...

You won't learn anything about authority or subjection from the Von Mises people....

  7. Paul of Tarsus was a Roman spy, a lying imposture, and a vile agent of imperial Rome. His mission was to subvert and destroy the mission of Jesus and his brother James and their followers. Jesus and his followers were political rebels rebelling against Roman occupation of Judea. They were not religious rebels as Paul and the lying Roman propaganda matrix would have people believe. (Hyam Maccoby -- The Mythmaker: Paul and the Invention of Christianity). James and his followers completely rejected and repudiated Paul of Tarsus and exposed him for what he was, an imperialist Roman enemy agent. For that they were murdered by Paul and his Roman masters.

Rome/Vatican is the Medusa head. It's where the snakes emanate from. It's the institution and organization which controls the other institutions and organizations. The NEW WORLD ORDER is the old Roman Empire updated. The "new" EU is the old fascist/nazi Vatican/German Reich updated. The US is a Vatican slave plantation. They're simply using the more subtle and updated methods of propaganda and economic subjugation to achieve the same millennia old objectives of centralized control, imperial theft, slavery, and mass murder.

  8. M,

Looks like you are not the only one believing this type of stuff:

    http://uk.prweb.com/releases/2013/10/prweb11201273.htm

And currently Fox's Bill O'Reilly has a book out that has a similar theme... NYT #1 Bestseller in fact (HUGE tip-off!)

    Have fun! rsp,

  9. Matt,

I've held these views for a long time, because I know and understand how these people think and operate and their eternal objectives as outlined above.

But it's good to see that more and more people are waking from the gov mafia propaganda induced ignorant stupor.

  10. Matt,

I've just read the article you've linked to, and have to say that I disagree. The texts of concerning Jesus were redacted too many times to be based on a complete falsehood. I do believe there was an historical Jesus and that he was as I said earlier a political rebel. His story, history, and political narrative has since been subverted and changed to fit imperialist Roman propaganda objectives.

Btw, you might find the investigative work of Simcha Jacobovici quite illuminating.

    Best,
    mika.

  11. M,

How do you see the 'monetary' details of the situation back then?

What in your view was happening in the area of fiscal policy and taxation, etc? This seems like an area that for instance the Bill O'Reilly #1 book focuses on...

You wrote above 'imperial theft', what in your view was being 'stolen' here?

    rsp,

  12. Matt,

The system never changed. Exactly what we have today is what they had back then. If you were connected to the gov mafia you lived a privileged life. For the others life was a brutal subsistence existence of downward mobility to sex and other slavery, destitution, disease, mass murder as war fodder.

  13. M,

For instance here is OReilly on this:

    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/oreilly-confronts-professor-who-criticized-him-over-killing-jesus-book/

"Notre Dame theology professor Candida Moss wrote a column for The Daily Beast criticizing the message of Bill O’Reilly‘s book Killing Jesus, claiming O’Reilly says Jesus died because of taxes while leaving out anything about Jesus’ message of social justice. Well, O’Reilly is never one for letting criticism just hang in the air, and brought Moss onto his show Wednesday night to tell her the entire premise of her piece is flat-out wrong.

O’Reilly began, “With all due respect, Jesus was not a socialist.” He proceeded to explain that the point of the book was to talk about history, not religious doctrine. "

So you can see here how OReiily (and Candida Moss for that matter) doesnt see that the Romans were operating a system of state currency (in the Lord's words 'nomisma') and in his (OReiily) view, the Roman govt had to have the taxes in order to spend so the Romans according to OReilly 'needed' the taxes in order to operate their empire and were in some sort of cahoots with the leadership in Jerusalem .... which is self-evidently all false (to me anyways..)

So the whole premise of the book is completely false and te book is for morons only...

You should examine your beliefs in light of this too imo as it seems you may be caught up in a form of this falsehood too... with your "imperial theft" reference...

  14. M,

    "The system never changed. "

    It most certainly did.

We went on the metals at the fall of the old Empire...

And have been there for almost 2,000 years until 1933 and 1971 where we removed the metallic convertibility....

So today, its not that 'it never changed" its "we're finally back to the way it was..."

So I agree we have the same system today as back then but there was an almost 2,000 year period where we were NOT under this system, ie most of western history...

  15. Matt,

It's irrelevant what the gov mafia uses as their monopoly money. The point being, it's their monopoly.

    ReplyDelete
  16. M,

You sound like another who posts comments here an "F Beard" who is always talking about "stolen purchasing power" and that the form of "money" doesnt matter or somethings like this....

Look, to perform "theft" or "steal" something, this has to either take place in REAL or FINANCIAL terms...

Which one are you talking about with your "imperial theft" here?

Were they stealing the "money" or were they stealing REAL goods in your view...

It cant be the former as a currency issuer cannot steal its own currency....

    rsp,

  17. All of the above, and than some. They used EVERY method at their disposal to disposes the "provinces". From onerous taxes levied (payment was agricultural goods, gold, silver, manpower, etc.), to stealing intellectual property, to flooding the market with imperial money, to forcing the population to serve the Roman military machine.

This is all common knowledge. I'm really amazed you don't know this.

  18. "From onerous taxes levied (payment was agricultural goods, gold, silver, manpower, etc.), to stealing intellectual property, to flooding the market with imperial money, to forcing the population to serve the Roman military machine. "

    Where is this in scripture?

Or are you talking about secular history accounts? And if so, from what period?

Certainly this is not the backdrop of the Greek scriptures (1st Century) Are you talking about some centuries after the events depicted in scripture? If so, I may agree with you...

    rsp,

  19. Matt,

As I said, it is common knowledge. Some, indeed, is even available in the Roman NT scriptures. It is simply what the Romans did, and do. Nothing has changed. Even the fascist Roman symbols remain. If you're semi-informed and with a functioning brain, it is plain to see.

  20. What is being 'stolen'???

Taxes paid with currency that the govt gave the non-govt in the first place is an act of "theft"?

Try to be more specific, what is being stolen?

    rsp,

    ReplyDelete
  21. M,

If it is 'common knowledge' you should be able to simply point to a current situation of said 'theft'...

Please show me where something is being "stolen"... this should not be hard for you if it is 'common knowledge'....

    rsp,

  22. Matt,

    Are you kidding me?
People's time, energy, health, labor, property, and life is being stolen.

Why should Judeans or anybody else for that matter pay any kind of tax to Rome?
Why should Judeans slave on the field only to have almost everything taken away and shipped to Rome?
Why should Judeans accept any debased Roman coinage as a universal transaction mechanism?
Why should Judeans or anybody else serve Rome in any capacity?

Why is that so hard for you to understand?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Matt, just google: roman empire tribute

Also, I forgot to mention. Vast swaths of the best land was stolen from the indigenous population and given to foreign Roman aristocrats. That, again, was common practice in Judea, and is common knowledge.

  24. M,

"1 Since, in fact, He completes all His declarations in the hearing of the people, He entered into Capernaum.
2 Now a certain centurion's slave, who was held in honor by him, having an illness, was about to decease.
3 Now, hearing concerning Jesus, he dispatches to Him elders of the Jews, asking Him so that He, coming, should be bringing his slave safely through.
4 Now, coming along to Jesus, they entreat Him diligently, saying to Him that "Worthy is he to whom Thou shouldst be tendering this,
5 for he loves our nation, and he builds us the synagogue.
    "

Is building the nation a free synagogue an example of the 'theft' you have in mind? And abuse characteristic of a relationship described as "love" and one of "honor"?

I'm not asserting that it didnt all eventually go bad in 70 AD as prophesied by the Lord here:

"2 Yet He, answering, said to them, "Are you not observing all these? Verily, I am saying to you, Under no circumstances may a stone here be left on a stone, which shall not be demolished."

It looks like it was bound to go downhill in a few decades ... but the relationship between Rome and the house of Israel at the time Jesus was present seems hardly adversarial...

  25. "..relationship between Rome and the house of Israel at the time Jesus was present seems hardly adversarial.."
    ==

Right. You are being deliberately obtuse. I tell you what, next time there's a need of a candidate for a "hardly adversarial" Roman crucifixion or Roman infanticide, I'll be sure to have you volunteer.

    mika.

  26. M,

Read the scriptures... the infanticide was committed by the Herodians and the crucifixion was conducted to placate a Jerusalem faction who were part of the nation you claim the Romans were abusing and against Pilate's better judgement, in fact he washed his hands of the matter...

Suggest stop referring to non-scriptural authors and old gladiator movie re-runs for your revelations...
