Patrick Lang — Is the Korean war scare real?

Oh well, if it were HRC, we'd be at war with Russia, or, China, or both, by now. (snark)

  1. This one is making me nervous Tom...

I have to still go with the 'counter puncher' concept for now though...

They will have to hit us first...

  3. Seems like a rhetorical escalation today but the JPY is not reacting at this point... still hanging around 110....

I cant see them not eventually having to do a big joint program between US/Japan/s. Korea for regional missile defense .... with big fiscal program to fund it..... Japan has to go nuclear like yesterday...

  4. I am not too concerned at this point either. Rationally, war is a lose-lose.

The big danger is someone makes an error, does something stupid, or there is an accident. Everything is set on hair trigger.

Roger that but I have to say I felt the same way before Gulf War 1 and Gulf War 2...

  6. I didn't then because the US was positioning forces for invasion. The US not readying an invasion of NK, or even contemplating it.

So far it is mostly wishful thinking, along with some magical thinking.

The US military is not looking for war with NK.

  7. All of this is going to end badly.

There are no adults involved and there is no other possible result.
