"If the country is ever attacked as it was on 9/11, we all respond with a sense of urgency," Santelli said in a roundtable discussion on NBC's "Meet the Press" about the Wisconsin labor protests. "What’s going on on balance sheets throughout the country is the same type of attack.” -Rick Santelli |
He goes on...
"This is an issue that needs to be put out into the air," Santelli said. "Many other states ultimately — they might not have the same balance sheet as Wisconsin — but collective bargaining from the federal level these are big issues, and these costs need to be put under control." |
In other words, he suggests that collective bargaining--the right of workers to negotiate with employers for pay and benefits--is equivalent in some way to this nation being attacked on 9/11!
I'm starting a campaign to get this guy off the air once and for all. He's an idiot. Santelli has crossed the line on this one. Over 3000 people were murdered by terrorists on 9/11 in a premeditated attack. To compare union workers to the terrorists who commited this is disgusting. I urge everyone to contact CNBC and let them know that Santelli's comments are repulsive.
It's bad enough when he spouts his misinformed garbage on the bond market and fiscal policy, but this is too much.
My Google Feed offers me two versions of this post? Are these the people to contact/bombard?
ReplyDeleteWe need to declare 9/11 the new Hitler and apply Godwin's law. Way over the top.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone remembers, I predicted IN THIS BLOG the anti-semitism rise in Greece due to the austerity of the Austrian schools of the ECB.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mr Norman for having this blog to follow.
I wish I could have done more than point out what is now real :

HERE IS THE LA TIMES REPORT
HERE IS THE BLOG
The PTO's are blowing up due to education cuts all over, drying to save their schools.
Mainly from Governors like Rick Perry who don't want to use Federal stimulus.
THat's another blog post we have in here from a while ago.
I've complained to CNBC about Santelli's ignorance before, among others on that channel. Steve Liesman's really the only one I consistently like on that channel.
ReplyDeleteI contacted CNBC and told Ricky boy to shut his mouth about politics and stick to trading, than I asked CNBC to fire him for joining with the Nazi style of Facism, and that style is "We love our coporate aid, and we will send the exempt rule of law state police to hunt down the renegade political opposition." Nice try Walker, you may be elected, but you certainly prove you are no leader. Why don't you give the STATE POLICE SS badges, and after you shoot the democrats while escaping you can have them turn on this website for speaking out against the FAIR AND BALANCED NEWS NETWORK FOX. same as CNBC. I do believe CNBC got some angry emails Mike, as they did put an opposing view on tonite. Don't get me wrong the unions need to clean up their act too. The elected union officials need to stop making side deals with the Corporate and Political elites at the expense of the private and public members.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Bob, Anti.
