The sudden passing of CNBC on-air anchor Mark Haines has left the financial news industry without one of the most skeptical and challenging interviewers in the business. Mark seemed to always have a healthy dose of skepticism and never seemed to be a pushover when fed corporate management propaganda and spin.
I often enjoyed his challenging interviews and I'll miss his reporting in the mornings at CNBC.
I got my start in TV sitting next to Haines as one of the first, regular "Guest Hosts" on Squawk Box back in 1995. Haines was a very smart, no-nonsense guy, but he also had a great sense of humor and was an incredibly generous and gracious host.
