"We are about to bury rule by secrecy"
I hope this guy is right. (H/t to Roger Erickson.)
I like the idea of the evolution of the fourth estate. Citizen bloggers keeping the journalists honest. He wasn't completely out of paradigm. I think he was saying the idea of being out of money was wrong. Kennedy and Lincoln were taken out because they wanted to " print". Central banks were his bogie men.
Yeah Mike, I really do like the overall gist of what he said. I just get frustrated... We're gonna all end up unemployed sitting around doing nothing cause everyone thinks we're out of money... When did the link between actual productivity and money become so severed?
I thought he was saying the Fed (central bank) was evil for "selling credit they don't have so they can take profits they don't deserve," and that the government should be directly "printing money" based on the good faith and credit of its citizens. ...Also Lincoln and Kennedy were assassinated because of their intentions to directly "print money" without interest. Speech was given in 2007. I wonder if he's still alive.
But he's hopelessly out of paradigm on MMT. "We're out of money."
ReplyDeleteThis schmuck would ruin us economically. We'd be back on the friggin gold standard.
ReplyDeleteTax the fed, hahaha, what would they care, can't run out of keystrokes
Yeah, like I said he's out of paradigm. But I thought some of the other stuff was good--like fighting back to reinstate Democracy.

ReplyDeleteJust saying a quick thank you for turning me on to MMT. It's been enlightening.
ReplyDeleteWow.. that closer statement was something. I doubt anyone has every said anything like that about Vermont of all places...
