Pew — 24% of Kids Have Moved Back In With Their Parents
We are called the "sandwich group" because we have grown kids who need help, as well as aging parents that also need help.
In the 80s women joined the workforce to increase disposable income for families. It worked, as it allowed spice/debt to increase for decades. Now we have 55+ doing a parabola while 24 to 54 falls off the ledge. Granny will be serving you at McDonalds. What's left? Do we next put the kids to work instead of school?
They tricked everyone into believing debt was an asset that could be tapped at will, so there's never been a need to worry about wage increases. Just make the monthly nut, and you are golden. We are in the process of finding out why wages matter. Our problem now is that we are a global economy where someone will always do your job for less, and less, and less...
