KPFK: Recently, Max Keiser discussed on RT the MF Global pillaging scandal, U.S.A.’s eighth largest bankruptcy, and how the Occupy Movement has remained largely silent on the potential rallying call issue due to a lack of financial literacy. Fortunately, Max Keiser, Dr. Michael Hudson, Dr. Richard Wolff, and others have been speaking at Occupy Movement convergences. Perhaps, in U.S.A., we may learn to head off the banker fascism austerity now looming over the Eurozone. Media Roots considers the benefits of our increased collective interest in the dynamics of political economy and international relations, impacting our global regions. In this spirit, we present the second broadcast from Pacifica Radio’s Guns and Butter featuring excerpts of the introductory remarks from radical economist Dr. Alain Parquez at the recent Italian Modern Monetary Theory Summit in Rimini, Italy, February 2012.

  1. Now I'm not sure whether it is Parguez or Parquez, I certainly know it as the former.

Either I'm just not familiar with the diverse European culture or Parguez comes off as a conspiracy nut.

And I mean no disrespect to him in saying that.

  2. Sennexx,

Alain Parguez has been working on a general theory of the economy based on a monetary circuitist approach. Some very interesting ideas - see - FOREWORD

Read particularly his two dialogues that are linked therein.

Also read his paper The Monetary Theory of Public Finance where he proves the irrelevance of the State Budget constraint. It is proven that taxes cannot provide initial finance for the State. State outlays generate an equal creation of money through the relationship between the spending aspect of the State (Treasury) and its banking aspect (Central Bank). Taxes are part of the reflux (final finance): they destroy an equal amount of money.

He has some other very interesting papers as well.

  3. Clonal, I know whom the man is.

I am just indicating the way the speech came across.
