Ryan Lizza — How Paul Ryan captured the G.O.P.
Interesting in-depth article about Paul Ryan, the Ryan Plan, and the future of the GOP.
Paul Ryan really is some of the worst humanity has to offer. Why everyone in Washington is gay for the man is a mystery to me. To his credit, Paul Krugman is endlessly cruel to the man.

I think it's pretty easy to understand. Washington loves a charismatic huckster who can sell a shit sandwich to the rubes. Consider how the Beltway press still fawns over Ronald Reagan. If you go back and look at the numbers, Reagan wasn't really all that popular, but you wouldn't know that the way they heap adulation upon him. Even Obama does it. They do it because it doesn't really matter to them. The worse things are in the rest of the country the more money flows into the Emerald City. Ryan won't be all that popular in the country either, but they'll be happy to promote him and say that his dangerous extremism is "a little edgy" and "kinda sexy" and "have you ever seen such blue eyes?"
Doesn't look good....the usual suspects: Hayek, Mises, Freidman, and Rand.
