Marriner S. Eccles served took office as Governor of the Federal Reserve Board, a title changed to Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System after the Banking Act of 1935. Eccles was sworn in on November 15, 1934, remained Chairman until January 31, 1948, served as Chairman Pro Tempore from February 3, 1948 through April 15, 1948, and continued to serve as a member of the Board until his resignation on July 14, 1951.
