Stephanie Kelton — Government Has Always Had the Power to Pay Its Bills

Short and sweet. Great job.

Government Has Always Had the Power to Pay Its Bills
Stephanie Kelton | Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Missouri-Kansas

It seems that the confusion arises from several factors one of them being the conflating political restraints like the debt ceiling, or even the system of funding a currency sovereign with debt issuance, with operational constraints.

The public needs to realize that there is never an affordability issue as long as there are real resources available.

The issue is distribution of those resources between public purpose, and private use and that is a largely political issue.

Those who wish to skew distribution of real resources away from public purpose to private uses have concocted a narrative to dupe the rubes by baffling them with BS about how money is created.

TPC was a dangerous idea because it came too close to exposing the truth, and so it had to be smothered in the crib.
