The first Central Intelligence Agency officer to face prison for disclosing classified information, was sentenced on Friday to 30 months in prison by a judge at the federal courthouse here.
The judge, Leonie M. Brinkema, said that in approving the sentence, she would respect the terms of a plea agreement between the former C.I.A. agent, John C. Kiriakou, and prosecutors, but “I think 30 months is way too light.”
The judge said “this is not a case of a whistle-blower.” She went on to describe the damage that Mr. Kiriakou had created for the intelligence agency and an agent whose cover was disclosed by Mr. Kiriakou. The New York Times

I hope to Presidents Bush and Obama and Vice-President Cheney at The Hague. They are the real culprits. Disgusting.
The miracle of democracy.
ReplyDeleteNo the debacle of republicanism, the rule of the elite under the guise of democracy.
ReplyDeleteMr. Hickey:
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree. I find the citizens oblivious to the entire subject matter even if you were to rub the truth in their face.
The question is 1) are they actually oblivious (polling would indicate otherwise in many cases) and 2) where they are oblivious, why that is so? Has that obliviousness or misinformation been imposed, e.g., through elite control of media.
ReplyDeleteWhere the assumption of methodological individualism goes wrong is in overlooking the role of institutions socially, politically and economically. Those institutions are created by elites to serve elite purposes rather than public purpose. This is true of religious institutions all the way down to kindergarten education, where the process of intellectual capture begins.
We do not ignore the media, the elites or the indoctrination at the government schools. All of those groups are still made up of individuals, however conformist they might be.
