Of course, this doesn't mean that no one gets a vacation in the US. Just that there are no statutory requirements as there are elsewhere in the developed world. In the US, it's a benefit that employers voluntarily provide — or not.

I guess this shows how much stronger the European labor movements of the 20th century were.

ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, so-called "Christian" England had workers working 1/2 a day on Sunday too! Literally, those folks who ordered that should have been stoned to death!
