A compelling study argues that the rise of four ideologues to the world stage in 1979 had far-reaching consequences.
The four are neoliberalism aka laissez-faire (Thatcherism, Pinochet), market socialism aka capitalism with Chinese characteristics (Deng), theocratic Islamism (Khomeni), and theocratic conservative Christianity (John Paul II). Such as the "saints" of the late 20th century.
