Roger Martin — The Cure for Self-Inflicted Complexity


Good post on complexity and its consequences, but Martin doesn't realize that the meta-discipline he calls for was developed decades ago as General Systems Theory

Economist Kenneth Boulding was one of the founders. See "General Systems Theory — The Skeleton of Science" (Management Science, vol. 2, no. 3, April, 1986). 

Of course, he can be excused for not knowing about it because it remains heterodox thinking, i.e., thinking out of the box.
