Scientific American — Cause of Mysterious Siberian Holes Possibly Found
An exploded anticline petroleum trap?
ReplyDeleteOr a relic from the old Siberian trap era of volcanism? Many possibilities.
It sure looks like alot of pictures of failed oil/gas drilling, when traps and cap rocks crumbled or exploded.
The lakes in the area were formed when the climate was warmer, which suggests these craters will eventually fill with water and become lakes.
