  1. Taking a page out of the GOP playbook, Greenpeace had EU's chief science office defunded because science didn't support the politics of environmental conservatism. They were angry that the eu wouldn't ban GMOs and become radicalized on climate beyond what science calls for. In many areas, like agriculture, Russia and China have been very liberal and have adopted modern techniques while rejecting the scare mongering surrounding breeding, genectics, and IPM.
