An economics, investment, trading and policy blog with a focus on Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). We seek the truth, avoid the mainstream and are virulently anti-neoliberalism.
This article is infuriating. I know for a FACT that SK has spoken at length with him about this stuff. Its one thing if he just chose to avoid the issue for political reasons, and knowing what he knows. But it seems he is willfully taking on this issue and discussing it in terms he knows to be inaccurate.
Bernie is into taxing away economic rent. He is more on the side of Michael Hudson than MMT, which treats economic rent as irrelevant to achieving full employment.
The MMT position seems to be to accommodate economic rent in order to achieve full employment.
I think that Sanders perceives politically that the public is fed up with exorbitant rent.
Has he actually been introduced to Stephanie Kelton ?
