  1. "Some circles maintain that current economics and technology will solve all environmental problems, and argue, in popular and non-technical terms, that the problems of global hunger and poverty will be resolved simply by market growth. "

    ???????

I dont think anybody is arguing that... this is a confused document maybe something was lost in the translation... no keen intellect operating here imo....

The "problems" of global hunger and poverty will be solved by human beings under competent and qualified leadership.... this is from Dan in the other thread wrt to the current incompetent Greek leadership:

"Tsipras seems to have no actual plan for Greece. He wants some debt forgiveness so the Greek economy can continue muddling along in its dysfunctional way through years of extremely low employment and poor economic performance. If he has a serious plan for turning this around, I'd sure like to hear it.

Clearly he would like less "austerity" which suggests he wants a more activist government with more spending. But what is it exactly is it he wants to do beyond continuing to pay pensions? The label "Anti-austerity" is not an actual policy program."

You have a bunch of incompetents running things.... like in Greece and everywhere you look where there are problems...

So the Pope here is chastising technological advancements which actually help increase quality of life meanwhile he gives the incompetents a complete pass...

His solution is to go back to stone age subsistence living with shitty productivity so "everyone can have a job" or something... go back to farming with hoes and shovels.... everyone can be poor and living in poverty then he would be happy...

This is not a very intelligent approach, shows a complete lack of insight and demonstrates a very dull intellect on the part of the Pope and his staff at the Vatican...

Its kind of scary that there is a neanderthal/cave-man pre-historic dinosaur intellect like this at the helm of the largest sect in Christendom...

  2. This is ABSURD from this guy:

"We fail to see the deepest roots of our present failures, which have to do with the direction, goals, meaning and social implications of technological and economic growth.”

    Whaaaaatttt????????

This guy would have us back wearing animal skins and living in caves I swear....
