National Review's Rich Lowry is a useless idiot.

Rich Lowry is a useless idiot

Conservative pundit and editor of the National Review, Rich Lowry, is a useless idiot. The other night on Fox News he said that Carly Fiorina "cut Trump's balls off" in the debate.

Lowry should check down between his own legs, the little twerp.

I've had conversations with Lowry in the past. He's another one of these conservative ideological morons who's all for endless war and the protection and enrichment of the billionaire class. Seems like Lowry's new macho chick, Fiorina, is into the same thing, which is why the GOP elite are suddenly falling in love with her.

I'm not surprised that Trump is ditching Fox News. My only question is what took him so long? It's insidious over there. A fortress mentality. I should know, I worked there for 10 years. You spout Roger Ailes' "party line" and you go far, just look at my former friend, Charles Payne, such a dope, but a huge career on Fox.

  1. Mike I think Ailes exploited a void in the media back in the day and did pretty well with it for sure.... but in a similar fashion, I think the whole Trump/Bernie phenom we can see right now is identifying another substantial void for progressive media that can cut across what have been traditional party lines... has to be a very big media business opportunity....

I think it would be very successful... but you might not be able to hire anyone over 40 to staff it... maybe over 30.... in any case you'd have to get entirely new people to staff it...

Guys like Lowry and venues like Fox are digging in when imo popular views are manifestly changing... they are not adapting and this will be interesting to see how this shakes out for them ...they might soon be joining the others in the ratings toilet...

  2. I agree and that's a big part of my personal frustration with not being able to generate any interest in this idea or, to successfully raise money for it.

  3. Television is on the way out anyway. The future like in the Internet and devices, and that will involve content on demand and content developed for more tightly targeted markets.

The die off of the analog-cultured boomers will change everything as their marketing power wanes, and the digital people take over.

Murdoch might as well try to milk it as long as he can. He already failed in digital with My Space. His day is coming to a close.

  4. Fox is "digging in" because that's where their ratings lie; preaching to the choir. The aging demographic that make up their viewing base can keep them profitable for the time being, even though they're literally dying off every day. As for the future, well, Murdoch is 84, Ailes is 75.

  5. " has to be a very big media business opportunity...."

Look at the Young Turks. They're crushing everyone else online. Cenk's absolutely clueless on economics, a deficit hawk. But they're good on most stuff.

  7. TYT has a subscription model, I pay $10/month. They also have a few sponsors they advertise for.
Be interesting to know how much money Youtube has made off of their clips vs how much they get. They have over a billion views and 75 million monthly views for the network, so I'd figure it'd draw advertising dollars. And their average viewer age is 28, compared to fox's geriatric audience.. So they're doing well so far. Interesting example.
