TeleSUR — Wearing Hijab is Passive Terrorism Says US Military to Women

The U.S. document on counter-terrorism strategies makes several dubious claims, such as that men’s sexual frustration drives to militant extremism. A United States military white paper on counter-terrorism strategies claimed that Muslim women wearing headscarves is a form of “passive terrorism” and that “sexual deprivation” fuels support for violent extremism, The Intercept reported on Tuesday. The paper, titled Countering Violent Extremism: Scientific Methods and Strategies, was first published in 2011 and revised last year by the Air Force lab. One section titled “A Strategic Plan to Defeat Radical Islam” included a number of eyebrow-raising claims without clear connections to serious counterterrorism research….
