Uses "deadheads," not in its current meaning, which Keynes could not have anticipated, instead of "morons."

The voices which — in such a conjuncture — tell us that the path of escape is to be found in strict economy and in refraining, wherever possible, from utilizing the world’s potential production are the voices of fools and madmen. JM Keynes
ReplyDeleteOr lazy, wicked servants per Matthew 25:14-30, The Parable of the Talents.
Scripture has generally said it first, is my experience, when it comes to sound economics. Then why don't Progressives use Scripture properly to win over those who supposedly are bound to obey it?
Because Progressives are too busy defending the "rights" of deviants to publicly offend? As if that matters to almost anyone?
Well the Keynes quote was from 1932 so we were under the metals and I dont see how Keynes can complain like he does... govts were very limited...
ReplyDeletedifferent circumstances today...
Andrew you cant use that scripture today either we are not under the metals like Israel was... as we are not compelled to stone sodomites either, etc...
So you cant on one hand say we today should take a lesson from Mat 25 there and at the same time ignore 'deviants' or whatever you call them...
What is your basis for this arbitrary/hypocritical application of the Levitical laws to us today ? Doesnt seem like you have one...
Franko,
ReplyDeleteWhat consenting adults do in private is nobody's business as the Old and New Testaments affirm by requiring two or more witnesses to convict anyone.
The issue isn't private behavior at all but offensiveness in public.
Well they are not engaging in sodomy in public so what is the problem?
ReplyDeleteThe law said if the two witnesses observed two engaged in sodomy then stone them... so where are all the people engaging in sodomy in public?
And you are tipping your hand here:
"offensiveness in public"
Youre just personally offended by these people so you are trying to use scripture to justify your bigotry...
Same with banking where you just are offended by those people (FD so am I) so you are trying to use scripture to allege they are "stealing!" some nebulous concept of "purchasing power" or wtf...
scripture says "he picks up where he does not lay down..." and "he sows where he does not reap".... theft or "stealing" only involves tangible things...
I'm curious, Franko. Since your spiritual guide is NOT Scripture, then who/what is it? And why do you call yourself a Christian, assuming you do? And not, say, a Calvinist?
