Bill Mitchell — Britain should exit the European Union

Tomorrow, Britain gets to cast a vote on its continued membership in the European Union, although it is unclear how binding such a vote would be on the Government. Probably not binding at all. The latest opinion polls are giving it 51 per cent remain to 49 per cent leave. The bookie odds are in favour of the remain camp. I am guessing the remain vote will win. It shouldn’t. The debate has been asinine to say the least. The public deception has reached unbelievable heights. My own profession has been wheeled out or wheeled themselves out in grand statements about how catastrophic exit would be. I don’t believe much of it at all. I provided my opinion on the topic in this February 23, 2016 blog – If I was in Britain I would not want to be in the EU. I will not repeat the analysis here. But in the research I have been doing on how the Left has become neo-liberal, there was a lot of overlap in how the Left became, to their detriment, pro-Europe. Here is some points on that. I hope the Exit wins.…

  1. Bill Mitchell writes some very nice (and very long) thesis in his blog, and his opinion about UK is very valuable.

In general he believes the EU is a disaster, because unelected officials wrongly promote an austerity agenda that amplifies unemployment, usually without recognizing their own past mistakes.

So, if a country could exit the EU, it should seize the opportunity.

But the thing is that the UK probably will create its own austerity program even without EU legislators around...

  2. I'm voting out. If you follow my posts you will see that the US government is freaking the life out of me. It's like seeing WW2 start all over again. I didn't think would see so much evil in my time, especially coming from my own side. To see what Washington has done to Iraq, Libya, and Syria and the Europeans go along with it. These people seem not to be able see their own evil, or they are completely evil, and are sleepwalking Europeans into a world war who haven't got a clue what is going on.

The EU is just one great big US controlled puppet, with all the politicians doing exactly what they are told, with not one defending Putin because the obvious evil the US is doing to Russia. They are all probably getting paid well for being lackeys. François Hollande is supposed to be a socialist, but he doesn't seem any different to any other neoliberal politician. They are all US controlled clones, and are all the same, being are too scared of saying anything.

  3. Let's give everybody inside the EU lunatic asylum the hope, the belief, the confidence that freedom from this anti-democratic corporate racket is achievable. I don't think I've ever wanted anything so much!

The EU is nothing less than a programmed killing machine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu0rP2VWLWw

But we can be (to mix film and their metaphors) free from this madness by copying Chief Bromden: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3c2cXiEUHo
