To say that the Brexit was a historical event is an understatement, not because of the political or economic consequences of this vote, but because first and foremost it is a loud, painful and most humiliated smack in the collective face of the ruling “elites”which run the AngloZionist Empire. All of them, not just Cameron, Merkel and Obama, but also and most importantly, their puppeteers: the AngloZionist comprador class which administers the EU colony on behalf of the USA. That is not to say that those who voted to leave the EU did that with the intention to make a political statement against the “elites”s, though some undoubtedly did, but because this is how the 1% class of plutocrats which run the Empire will perceive it. For them, this is something like a peasant insurrection, a Jacquerie if you want, and the normal reaction of feudal overlords threatened by their serfs it to put it down, not to negotiate with the serfs or, even less so, “reform” any of their ways.
Over and over again, we have seen that each time the referendums in Europe did not go the Empire’s way, or when the Empire was defeated in its policies (as in Syria, for ex.), the reaction was not to change course or engage in a lessons learned exercise, but to double-down and engage in what the French call “une fuite en avant” (to flee forward).
And that is what they will do next.…A military and intelligence analyst looks at Brexit.

Typical russophile ignorance of the democratic process...

The Saker is saying, correctly, that the elites of the Continental European countries that have carried out referendums have ignored result that went against them. He is sayin the same thing will happen with Brexit. So is Moon of Alabama, who is a German living in Germany. The Saker is actually a Continental European, too. Although he lives in the US now, he was born and raised in Switzerland to White Russian emigres that settled there after the Bolsheviki took over.
The way I see Mercouris (a London lawyer), Lavelle, now a journalist, and the Saker, a former analyst, is not some much as russophiles as objecting to the biased news coverage in the Western mainstream news media that jointly comprise a stenography and public relations service for their respective governments.
We see this kind of analysis from the right (Paul Craig Roberts, Ron Paul) and the left (Noam Chomsky, Michael Hudson) but little to none of it makes the MSM.
Personally, I greatly count that Article 50 will ever be submitted. A settlement will be negotiated along the lines of Norway that gives the UK a fig leaf of sovereignty and democracy but no real substance of it.
Well he is on record here Tom.... if Trump wins and immediately treats with Putin/Russia then this guy will be COMPLETELY discredited... 100% completely discredited...
ReplyDeletethe guy is completely ignorant of democracy... this should not be surprising if he is a middle-aged Russian.... those people cant even spell democracy it is probably not even in the Russian dictionary.... he's got a huge blind spot here... 'cognitive bias'...
The US press is just reporting the policy of the current US govt Tom... what else should they do?
ReplyDeletethe Dems are with Soros tied up in some sort of anti-Putin Ukraine screw deal thing no one in the GOP even gives a flying fuck about the Ukraine I can tell you first hand... ... so that is what is being reported on.. what is wrong with this?
If you dont like this policy then dont vote Democrat.... Trump has said he would like to ally with Russia in Syria and other things ... then the US press will report on that process...

ReplyDeleteThe Saker was born and raised in Switzerland to Russian émigré parents, so he speaks Russian fluently. Being Swiss he is also fluent in either French or German and possibly both. He worked as a US intelligence-military analyst and now lives in the US.
Oh, and remember Obama's Nobel Peace Prize and his Cairo speech on US-Islamic relations? What happened to that?
Well, see what Trump does if he wins, but he has been on just about every side of every issue at one time or another and sometimes in the same speech.
The US press is just reporting the policy of the current US govt Tom... what else should they do?
ReplyDeleteMaybe do some investigative reporting?
I recall it was the same during Vietnam. The one investigative reporter, I. F. Stone, self-published a newsletter and was ignored by the MSM. The WaPo did have an alternative columnist, Nicholas von Hoffman.
Tom people can make up their minds and go to the polls in November...
ReplyDeleteDon't confuse investigative reporting with conspiracy theories....
The voters will have enough info to make an informed vote on these issues by November... It's going to be a pretty stark contrast....
Just let the process work... Nobody said "leave" was going to win either...
ReplyDelete(Btw I'm not saying Trump has all the answers either... Just on the whole "Russia" issue here he is on Saker's side of it imo)
You read Saker and it's like the whole Trump phenom doesn't even exist....
The voters will have enough info to make an informed vote on these issues by November... It's going to be a pretty stark contrast....
ReplyDeleteThat is a huge assumption, Matt. Rational choice theory based on complete and symmetrical knowledge applies less to political reality than it does to economic reality.
And people don't vote with their heads, they vote their emotions.
Moreover, people are not going to have actual info when they go to the polls. The lies in this campaign are thick on both sides and the mainstream media reporters and pundits are not calling them out.
Bernie's mistake was not taking off the gloves.
"The lies in this campaign are thick on both sides and the mainstream media reporters and pundits are not calling them out."
ReplyDeleteClinton is a pathological liar as is much of the Democratic leadership, and the MSM fronts for her/them daily.
Trump is a liar? Really? Or do you mean the Republican Establishment?
If Trump is not lying, then he has a bad memory and a vivid imagination, or else the fact-checkers have it wrong.
ReplyDeleteBut for me the absolute deal breaker with Trump is his stand on torture. He doubled down on it today.
ReplyDeleteTrump renews support for torture…
OH, and there is not even the pretext of the use of torture being necessary to get information in order to save lives. It's about intimidating the enemy and exacting revenge.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually agree with The Saker, but he has described a plausible outcome.
ReplyDeleteYou have to separate the wheat from the chaff, Mike.
ReplyDeletethose people cant even spell democracy it is probably not even in the Russian dictionary
ReplyDeleteWow, Matt, are you out to lunch. You’ve fallen like a cheap suit for every sleazy bit of neocon and neoliberal propaganda about Russia.
You need to educate yourself instead of pontificating about a subject you know absolutely nothing about:

and this week’s show
https://audioboom.com/boos/4760182-blaming-putin-after-brexit-stephen-f-cohen-nyu-princeton-university-eastwestaccord-com
Stephen Cohen is heard by millions on WABC-NY AM radio out of Manhattan, and online around the world, every Tuesday night on the John Batchelor Show (NYC). Even though he’s married to the publisher and editor-in-chief of The Nation, he has stated repeatedly to the host’s annoyance that Trump is the only candidate who has any foreign policy savvy, and praises him as wise in that regard. And he’s pissed that Republican Party elites think they can deny Trump the nomination at the convention “when Trump was elected by the people fair and square.” He calls Kerry “a political corpse walking."
The first show I link to (last week’s) discusses how much more democratic and informative Russia’s press coverage is, and how much more the people know about what their government is doing than Americans know about theirs, and about the rest of the world. Cohen is positively derisive about Obama and his advisors. This show is one of the most intelligent and interesting hours in broadcasting at the moment, imo. And it’s not dull.
On 9/11, there are basically two POV's that are nuanced. The first is that what happened is completely accounted for by the official investigation and report. Nothing to see here. The second is that there is more to it than that. Of the later, there are two views. The first is that it was a false flag and the second is that it was due to incompetence that was covered up.
ReplyDeleteThere are several possibilities on the false flag. First is the direct participation of the US government. The second is the knowledge of the US and allowing it to happen for the propaganda effect that would allow the administration to carry out its plans, already known to be have been laid, similar to the charge that FDR knew in advance of the attack on Pearl Harbor but permitted it to take the US into WWII.
I don't accept the report based on the official investigation. Too many questions left open.
I don't have an firm opinion on the various POVS regarding what did actually happen. I feel the same way about the assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK.
If the official reports are true then the US not protected by its intelligence and security services, who are utterly imcompetent.
If the official reports are true then the US not protected by its intelligence and security services, who are utterly imcompetent.
ReplyDeleteThey are incompetent. Part of that is because they have too little to do.
Tom,
ReplyDeleteON JFK and the "Cuban Missile Crisis" - in large parts of the world that is known as the Turkish missile crisis. Some very important factions of the USA elites had managed to get dozens of first-strike, short-flight-time, “decapitation” nuclear missile batteries next to the russian border in Turkey, and were trying to get the same nuclear missile batteries installed in various central european countries. People even in right-wing countries in Europe were absolutely terrified by this, because the USA plan was starkly clear, and it was to sacrifice those countries in a first strike against the USSR:
* To destroy in a surprise attack thanks to short flight time all the strategic nuclear weapons command centers in the USSR, making the USA (relatively) safe from a long range retaliation attack (submarine based missile are very unreliable, and were extremely unreliable then).
* Then the surviving tactical forces of the USSR would retaliate short-range against the countries they could reach, turning Germany (and the UK and Turkey) into radioactive glassland. Two birds with one stone! The New American Century Project version 1.
Eventually the western european governments insisted on strict safeguards on dual-control, which involved western european troops prepared to fight USA troops if they tried to actually use the nuclear missile batteries for a first attack onto the USSR. This situation eventually persuaded the German elites that the USA elites had powerful factions which were effectively insane and became the motivation for the Ostpolitikl
This left the turkish missiles which were pretty much under the sole physical control of the USA troops. Indeed during the Turkish missile crisis J Kennedy seems to have been *strongly* advised to turn a crisis into an opportunity by firing those missiles on Moscow and all the relevant strategic command centers.
The mere installation of those missiles, never mind their arming and readying for launch, was an aggressive act of war by any definition, even worse than theUSA naval blockade of Japan in the 1940s, and the USSR leadership who were not insane warmongers unlike the John Birch society members on the other wise decided on a very proper and diplomatic answer, to re-establish some mutual-assured-destruction by doing something similar but vastly less threatening in Cuba purely as a limited response.
Now what actually happened is uncertain; some official transcripts show that J Kennedy was utterly surprised by the mention by the USSR of the threat of the turkish first-strike nuclear missile batteries, and this hints that “somebody” in the very top USA military and political elites funded and enabled the commission of an act of aggressive nuclear war without the knowledge of the USA president, which is a case of grave treason, which was surely investigated by B Kennedy. However within a few years entirely coincidentally both J and B Kennedy “died” and nothing came of that investigation.
The USA officer who was the firing officer for those first-strike nuclear missile batteries has written his memory of those times, as a patriot would, and they are starkly clear:

Random, you’re right.
ReplyDeleteWe were all raised to think that the reckless Russians took over Cuba and pointed its guns and ships at us because....well...they could. No clue that it was retaliatory.
I didn’t even know there was a Turkish missile crisis until this past decade, ot that it was part of the final negotiation.
Las second link goes to a page error.
NATO is doing the same thing to Russia right now, and the MSM isn’t reporting it. Neither have they reported Putin’s statement 10 days ago that if they keep it up there will be war.
ReplyDeleteImagine if Russia amassed its troops along the Quebec and Saskatchewan borders. Would we stand for it?
This whole story of realizing that the whole Western political edifice was built on bullshit began while I was serving a naval officer during Vietnam when I began smelling a rat and started digging into it. Wherever one looks the façade crumbles if one can unearth the evidence and documentation. That was not easy or simple before the Internet. But even now a lot remains surpassed, as we know from the Snowdon, Manning and other whistleblowers whom TPTB are going after with a vengeance. The level of criminality and treason is astounding, extending up to the highest levels.
ReplyDeleteI don't accept the report based on the official investigation. Too many questions left open.
ReplyDeleteMe neither.
I don't have an firm opinion on the various POVS regarding what did actually happen.
I have no opinion. I just know when I’ve been bullshitted.
My Japanese grill burns hotter than the WTC fires temps claimed by NIST (because I use uber-expensive Japanese white binchotan charcoal: I get 1875-1880 degrees F consistently for four to five hours according to my infrared laser thermometer) and it does squat to the thin metal grill.
http://korin.com/TK-636-06-33?sc=56&category=17860587
btw, this small grill is ceramic, not metal, which retains the massiveheat. But the metal grill is about two inches from the charcoal. You haven’t had a ribeye until you have one grilled on this baby. OH GOD!
