It would take a miracle to resolve this peacefully. Too many disparate interests that are contradictory. And there are no "moderate" rebels aka unicorns.

    Unlike Obama Putin is a brilliant man. Why does he keep falling for these ridiculous ceasefires?

    Perhaps he views the situation as a stalemate.
