Moon of Alabama — Renewed Jihadi Attack On Aleppo Supported By "Western" Propaganda Fakes

More news from the snake pit.

Erdogan claims Aleppo and Mosul for Turkey under revanchism.
We have maintained here for some time that the Turkish President Erdogan has designs for Aleppo as well as Mosul. He wants to incorporate both cities and all areas north of them into Turkey. Erdogan now publicly announced these aims:
Speaking during an opening ceremony for an educational institution in Bursa on Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan compared the way that Syrians and Iraqis have been driven away from homes because of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; ISIS/ISIL), to how Turkish people were once forced out from the same cities.
Erdogan added that the cities of Mosul and Aleppo belong to the Turkish people.
This is a serious misinterpretation of teh areas population history and of Turkey's international agreements and borders as delineated after the first world war.
Erdogan also lamented that Turkeys national leaders were born outside of Turkey's current borders. Something he implied he will strive to correct. The Greek will not be happy to hear that. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, was born in Thessaloniki…
Much more in the post, but this is the game-changer. Neo-Ottomanism openly declared.

  3. Time for coup attempt #2

Erdogan assumes it is already being organized. He is taking no chances and ruling with an iron fist. The majority of the population apparently supports this, but it is the military that counts. He has already purged the military, but it's unclear if he got everyone.

  4. Since the US supported Merkel's land grab, they'll probably support Erdogan's land grab. They need a strong Turkey with a strong leader. And having a carved up Iraq as part of NATO, with bases in the heart of the Middle East... the possibilities for endless war are, well, endless.

  5. A Turkish caliphate from Africa to Asia, a NATO member, oh yeah, Washington would support that.

They might if Turkey could convince the Western leaders that a Neo-Ottoman empire is capable of handling MENA while cooperating with the West to form an alliance against Iran, Russia, and China instead of threatening the West as previously.

  6. This is going to end very fucking badly, to say the least. The only thing that can stop all this madness is a revolutionary pan-Arab spring that will take down all the US stooges, especially Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf Arab petro-jihadi-gangster states, and block Turkey's imperial dreams. It's that or something close to world war. And with things unravelling with the "pivot to Asia", the world is looking into the abyss.
