Paul Craig Roberts — Bring Back The Cold War
PCR unloads. He ;points out that at least there was a modicum of sanity during the Cold War, unlike in the US leadership today.
I think it's genuine on the part of the folks at NPR. I sent Scott Simon the article Tom posted the other day about the election from the Chinese POV and he tersely responded that it was just the "govt line". Kai Ryssdal and Steve Inskeep were nice but seemed similarly exasperated/incredulous when I asked about a couple of our favorite themes here at MNE. I think we may tread on some ideas too far from centre to be acceptable to MSM
I'm not a huge fan of the Russia as a target of US meme, but The Germans have some leaked emails that seem to shed light on the narrative and propaganda development.
Written by the Russian ultranationalist crowd, e.g. Dugin and Glazyev. They want a return to a Tsarist Russia with an alliance between church and state.
These are people are way to the right of Putin who are pushing for Russia to be more assertive militarily in eastern . Many of the Russian volunteers fighting in eastern Ukraine are from this political faction. They are heavily critical of Putin for not doing so at the time of the annexation of Crimea and see it only a matter of time before Russia will be forced to do so under more unfavorable circumstances and the West militarizes Ukraine and NATO prepares to sit on Russia's western border, which Putin himself has said is a red line.
In other words, they think that the red line was passed long ago and Russia should just get on with the inevitable. The West is not pulling back. It needs to dismember Russia for access to China's western border in order to finish China off from all flanks, which is why the US is now cozying up to India militarily, too. I don't have any doubt that this is the strategy that the US is pursuing either.
The political party is led by Vladimir Zhirinovsky, and it is the second largest political party in the Duma. They are the ones that would likely take over if Putin were ousted in regime change, and they are for being openly confrontational with the West. Putin is for being conciliatory, which they regard as a sign of weakness that will just embolden the West to advance on Russia in accordance with their plans.
I think we may tread on some ideas too far from centre to be acceptable to MSM
It's way beyond their worldview, therefore, they are blindsided and unable to see it. Journalists are just not very smart and play the role of useful idiots for the Borg, as Col. Pat Lang calls it over at Sic Semper Tyrannis.
The problem with most journalism is that journalists are not informed about international relations and military strategy, and all they understand of economics is out of Greg Mankiw's intro book. Finance is totally beyond them.
So the public is left with moronism. I have pretty much stopped paying attention to the US media. The level of it is so low I just can't stand being exposed to it.

If they would have just not reneged on the gas thru Ukraine deal 10 years ago none of this would be happening...
That's the economic view. The military strategy view is that portioning Russia and Iran are steps to finally taking down "communist" China. The US cannot dominate the world without doing this.
The military mind operates on dominating territory. If your side doesn’t, someone else will. This is the basis of the Wolfowitz doctrine about not letting a challenger to US hegemony arise, for example.
It seems crazy to many perhaps, but that is just the Great Game in the eyes of strategists.
The US strategists know they have only a short window of opportunity to take down China before China full ramps up and can swarm the US. The obstacle is nuclear armed Russia. It's also why the US in unwilling to let Iran have nuclear weapons.
"Portioning Russia and Iran" should be partitioning. "Divide and conquer." The ultimate US foreign policy goal is to partition China. India will eventually have to be partitioned, too, as will Indonesia but neither India nor Indonesia are issues for the US at this point. The pressing point is China and Russia stands in the way.

PCR, being a religious man, might appreciate this.

Seems email servers aren't very secure.
"Yet NPR not only censors the news, but uses disinformation as a weapon in behalf of Washington and Israel’s agendas."
ReplyDeleteJew baiter...

Delete" many thousands more suffered physical and psychological wounds."
ReplyDeleteWhat does he think that Eisenhower didnt suffer from these same type of 'psychological wounds"?
When he came up with his entire "military-industrial complex!" paranoid conspiracy theory?
As if nations never had a military and had industry before?

ReplyDeleteWashington has zero chance of portioning/partitioning Russia or China. When will they abandon their masturbatory fantasies?
