Take away California and Trump wins by three million votes. Take away roughly three million illegals who voted (likely for Clinton) and Trump wins by 2 million even if Cailf included. Take away rampant voter fraud in all major blue cities and Trump gains another million or so votes. You get the picture. Popular votes ain't what they seem.
ReplyDeleteAnd, anyways, Trump won an EC landslide, which is how you win a presidential election. If it came down to 50% plus one then campaigns would be run differently. EC will always be that way too cause no way we'll get the constitution amended to change that fact.
Oh and hanging one's hat on what the partisan Brookings Institute says "is so much bullshit. What a insulting, elitist, patronizing conclusion. Imagine these twits saying that a large % of Clinton voters were unproductive, uneducated, low skilled minorities or dumbass millennials.Absent them and she win zero states and loses popular vote by 10 million plus.
Stupid article. Stupider conclusion.

ReplyDeleteSums it up.
ReplyDelete"...That’s another oft-repeated thing. Trump’s base of supporters is referred to as whites without college degrees. Again and again we hear that Mr. Trump is over-performing with white men without college degrees. The reference is intended not only as a demographic marker, but as a Mark of Cain.
Worse has been said about this statistical cohort. Quoted in “The Trump Revolution: The Donald’s Creative Destruction Deconstructed” are Republicans and Democrats alike, maligning Trump’s Middle America as worthy of contempt.
You had writer Kathleen Parker hissing about Trump’s “undereducated” supporters. There was Joan Walsh, Salon editor-in-chief, proclaiming on MSNBC that she looked at those people and felt sad. “They share such a low common denominator,” groaned Joan about the “crazy, entertaining, simplistic talk” of the Trumpsters. “They’re all Republicans. … they really don’t have a firm grasp on reality,” she sneered.
National Journal’s Ron Brownstein had his own taxonomy for Trumpsters. “Upscale Republicans” (or those on the panel with him), vs. “blue-collar Republicans.” Nothing but “downscale whites,” derided another Democratic strategist.
Anyhow, implicit in tethering a lack of education to Trump support is that the more educated a voter, the smarter. And the smarter the voter, the more likely he or she is to support Hillary Clinton and the Democrats.
But correlation, of course, is not causation. My hypothesis points to a confounding variable or factor—another variable related to both education and voting-patterns that could account for the good sense displayed by Trump supporters without college degrees.
Voters without college or university degrees have not been institutionalized during life’s formative years.
Voters without college or university degrees have not spent years in the tertiary school asylums.
In other words, many of Trump’s supporters are less likely to have been brainwashed and propagandized by the asphyxiating, postmodern, racial and gender agitprop that makes college-educated kids so insufferable and subject to group-think.
Spending protracted time in college or university is almost guaranteed to turn-out individuals whose uniformity of opinion is as scary as its uninformed nature..."

It's the majors outside of STEM....
ReplyDeleteTake away roughly three million illegals who voted
ReplyDeleteNo dummy, this was debunked.
Jeff,
ReplyDeleteThen it was 5 million. I was being generous.
Oh, don't come back with Politifact and Snopes. Both are partisan hack sites.
....These are states that require no ID for voting:
ReplyDeleteCalifornia, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Washington, D.C.
Take away California is about the stupidest comment I've ever seen. That completely demolishing any credibility over the other asinine conjecture of millions of illegals voting. Yea, people hiding in the shadows are going to come out and expose themselves. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.
ReplyDeleteThe point of the article was that more than 2/3 of the economy is coming from highly creative diverse areas where there is proportionately much greater investment in education and entrepreneurial spirit. The other areas, representing less than 1/3 of the economy are based on old-timey natural resource extraction or reliant on old industrial technologies. Yes, it helps explain the anger of those being left behind, but it also makes clear that what Trump is proposing for them isn't going to help. Coal is NOT coming back. Brown people are not stealing their jobs; they’re smart enough to not generally live in those faltering areas. And infrastructure investment, by huge tax credits to the top 0.1% and giving them the revenue streams from those assets, is not going to happen in economically depressed areas (see Business 101) and second is just another way for Trump's buddies to apply the rent to enlarge income inequity further.
What's it going to take to wake you people up? Another Great Bubble, Recession and Financial Meltdown?
My guess is if the popular vote is what mattered, trump's campaign probably would have been significantly less racist. He would have gotten the racist vote regardless. Hell, even with the ec, he probably would have won even more easily had he ran a less racist campaign, because a lot of hrc's votes were votes against trump and not for clinton, often times precisely because of trump's racism.
