David Nir — Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has turned into a stooge for Syria's dictator. Who will primary her?

Here's the Democrats' view of Tulsi Gabbard as a prospective leader. Oh, and she met with not only Bashir Al-Assad but also Donald Trump.

  2. Just to show how clueless the Democrats are.

Almost all of them have lost the plot and flailing about like a bunch of drunks in a barroom brawl.

    Hopeless.

  4. Tom is left of Communism....

Correct. The reason "Communism" has generally failed to meet its social, political and economic objectives lies in the failure of a society to rise to the requisite level of collective consciousness to support this high level of functioning. Pope Francis correctly pointed out that Marxism is based on Christian values of universal compassion and concern for the poor, while criticizing capitalism as being incompatible with Christian values in its focus on pursuit of individual material self-interest without moral concern (if it is legal, it is moral. But so-called Christian societies have not fared better because of their failure to incorporate these values they profess but don't live.

Liberalism fails for the same reason that Communism has. In this regard, they are actually two sides of the same coin.

Expat Russian sociologist Pitirim A. Sorokin dealt with this in his work on altruism. I especially recommend The Ways and Power of Love (1967).

St. Augustine of Hippo summarized the teaching: "Love and do as as you will."

Love is the foundation of living a good life in a good society. But that requires "a conversion of the heart."

Two chief philosophers of the right are Russian expats Ayn Rand and Pitirim Sorokin. This is somewhat incongruous in that Rand advocated self-interest and deprecated altruism while Sorokin took the opposite view. Actually Sorokin is liked on the right because his view as a sociologist was that liberalism would implode by undermining the institution of the family. This is the meaning of "traditional family values."
