He's right that the US has used it's power to inflict unimaginable suffering, promote injustice and has acted with selfish evil intent on far more people than it helped.
ReplyDeleteBut where he is wrong is that the US isn't responsible for solving all the problems for the world. Because there are tyrants in the Middle East, what is the US supposed to do? What exactly were the better options? None were good and all have bad consequences.
I believe his argument is that those "tyrants in the Middle East" exist precisely because the US and the West put thrm in power, arm them, provide international legitimacy for them and provide political cover for their regimes.
