The four men are former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton, Army strategist Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, acting national security adviser Keith Kellogg and West Point superintendent Lt. Col. Robert Caslen, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters on Saturday.UPI
Trump was said to have settled on an individual to replace Flynn earlier this week, but the candidate, Ret. Navy Vice Adm. Robert Harward, reportedly turned down the offer. ...
Trump to interview Bolton, three others for NSA post
Eric DuVall
Bolton will have to shave that mustache. Trump is envious.
ReplyDeleteVice Admiral Robert Harward

Hayward was a Mattis protege and a Lockheed Martin exec after retirement. No loss there.
ReplyDeleteSeems to be confusion as to the spelling of his last name. It is the same person obviously.
ReplyDeleteThanks for point that out. I will correct in the post.
ReplyDeleteAfter Frank Gaffney and James Woolsey, Bolton's the most dangerous madman in Washington. Bolton has no respect for reality and facts, and so should make a nice fit into Trump's loony cabinet.
ReplyDeleteIf Trump picks Bolton, this whole "Trump is anti-establishment" line is just him bloviating the whole time and buttering up people who have fell for the rhetoric and nonsense. Full stop and more people need to wake up. I have a bad feeling he would pick someone as insane as Bolton to run the NSA.
ReplyDeleteSomeone made a good point about the guy calling everything under the sun fake news except FOX as if FOX has never been the source of a whole of bullshit too. LOL.
ReplyDeleteIf Trump picks Bolton, he's lost me.
ReplyDeleteTrump will forever be an asshole to me if he chooses Bolton.
ReplyDeleteKT McFarland seems to be lobbying for him. Bad sign.

BTW, I don't think that one can blame Trump alone on this. These are the folks that would have been in if almost any of the other GOP candidates had won. They are being selected off the bench.
ReplyDeleteI also happen to think that Trump is smart enough to hire people who disagree with him whom he can then fire when they fail to back up his positions. Case in point: Mad Dog Mattis. Mad Dog considers Russia a veritable threat. Trump does not. Going to be interesting to see how this shakes out.
ReplyDeleteMattis also stated that he doesn't have a problem with the media.
DeleteHow better to destroy your enemies' thinking in the broader population than to hire them then scratch them as traitors? I'd do that. I've studied Machiavelli. No problemo.
ReplyDelete"John McCain, btw, is a traitor." And Lindsey Graham.
ReplyDeleteI would view Trump's talk of Bolton as a signal to Russia...
ReplyDeleteTrump has gone way out of his way for Russia now the move for Russia is to reciprocate for Trump...
Yet we have Russia buzzing US Navy ships and doing missile tests, etc..
dont forget that this whole "Russia!" thing was started by Russia when they reneged on the gas deal thru Ukraine when gas price went to $13...
ie Russia does not evidence that they know how to deal...
So the whole relationship with Trump if it is going to work has to be based on successful dealings... not sure if this is realistic to expect with Russia it has historically not been the case with Putin's Russia...

ReplyDeleteFrom the Daily Mail, January 2009
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1106382/Europe-plunged-energy-crisis-Russia-cuts-gas-supply-Ukraine.html
“Overnight the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin ordered the state energy giant Gazprom to cut supplies to and through Ukraine by around three-fifths amid accusations its neighbour has been siphoning off and stealing Russian gas.
Ukraine says the Russian move has been prompted by payment and price disputes, a row between the two that has become almost annual.
The effects of the dispute on the rest of Europe however is stark, said Ukraine's main gas supplier.
Around 80 per cent of the gas European Union countries receive from Russia comes through Ukraine.”
And this
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1104814/Russia-slashes-gas-supplies-Ukraine-thats-set-push-prices-Europe.html
“Russia claims its measures are designed to reduce gas flows to the Ukraine in order to force the country to pay a fair price for the gas it buys.
However, Ukraine has retaliated by simply taking the gas it needs from the pipeline – with the result that supplies are being rationed to Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.“
The hate-Russia crowd in the US didn’t heat up until the Ukrainian President reneged on the far-reaching EU pact (that would also have them give up their currency) in November 2013. US investors in eastern Ukrainian oil and gas, like Biden’s son and Soros, were livid. That brought out Nuland to start the Maidan protests. Nuland, et al, fomented the coup in Feb 2014. The new Kiev crew chosen by Nuland sent troops to the region in an attempt to take control of the enormous resources there, and then accused Russia of sending in troops, which wasn’t true.
MRW right the whole thing goes back to this screw up by these two drunks...
ReplyDeleteWe shouldnt have ever got involved with these two ham fisted barbarians...
Ukraine USD debt like $140B... the lenders will NEVER get that back...
This is just a tendency of socialists to take umbrage at somebody else making munnie...
ReplyDeleteGas price goes to $13 and Russia just cant help themselves... same with Venezuela, oil goes to $125 and they kick out all the US partners... paybacks are hell... you cant renege....
