Not just liberal interventionist HRC applauding Trump. The war hawks are on board with it, too. Still waiting to hear from the neocons.
McCain? You remember, the guy that DJT accused of trying to start WWIII.

McCain And Graham Praise Trump’s Decision To Strike Assad

Oh, wait. Here's neocon Bill Kristol.
One person who was supportive of a strike on the Assad regime Thursday was former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She said at a conference that she believes the U.S. should “take out” President Bashar al-Assad’s air fields. Weekly Standard editor-at-large Bill Kristol, a staunch supporter of the Iraq war and detractor of President Trump, also supported military action against the Middle Eastern nation.
“If Pres. Trump takes appropriate action against Assad this [Never Trumper] will of course support him. He’s the president, not merely ‘Trump,'” Kristol said on Twitter....

The "Master Persuader" has his work cut out for him digging out of this hole, or bomb crater.
I guess after this, we can all officially drop the "Master Persuader" schtick too unless by some miracle this turns out okay.
ReplyDeleteI don't see how he digs his way out of this to make himself OK with his base given what I am seeing in posts and comments. Fierce.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll hire Scott Adams. :)
He has a new base now ;)
ReplyDeleteA lot of folks have believed that he is a Democrat at heart and only ran as Republican because he thought he would win the nomination. He is 70 years old and this was his last chance.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I thought he was gonna get impeached pretty soon or resign and write whole (ghost)written books about his shortlived presidency. Had he resigned, he coulda made bank BIGLY, still having the support of the hardcore Trumpers buying the hell out of his books and launching Trump TV after all.
ReplyDeleteThe presidency is the kiss of death for Trump. 10 weeks from outsider to puppet. He's grasping an imaginary image of himself that is deteriorating every day. I don't expect him to survive the year let alone the term. I'm guessing he will resign for 'medical' reasons and Pence will happily slide into the puppet seat.
ReplyDeleteWeren't you a fan because of his isolationist rhetoric, Tom?
ReplyDeleteEverything's a freaking mess.
Weren't you a fan because of his isolationist rhetoric, Tom?
ReplyDeleteYes. The idea that the national security of the US was threatened by the alleged use of a chemical weapon somewhere far from the US and its allies is complete nonsense from the point of view of realism.
This is liberal interventionist logic that allows the US to claim national interest without limitation.
Trump ran as a foreign policy realist and HRC as a foreign policy idealist. Trump was flipped. That's a big campaign promise to break. He has betrayed trust, not to mention committing a war crime.
