Sarah K. Burris — Tillerson’s Russia 180: ‘Either Russia has been complicit or Russia has been simply incompetent’

Trump chooses to do a 180. So much for foreign policy realism making a comeback. Trump has apparently decided to go full-on Wilsonian, although I doubt he understands much if anything about these matters.

Whatever trust the US still had with Russia and China are no reduced to zero. The game is turning to zero-sum.

  1. The latest defense I'm hearing now was that Putin was notified and this could have been a deal w/ Russia in exchange for Assad. Is that even possible? I feel like that would be too good to be true.

  2. "The base was empty my friend, remember Trump plays 4Dchess. Russia was notified prior to the missile strike, they then alerted Syrian Forces"

  3. Of course, the US had to warn Russia in advance to make sure that the US did not hit Russian troops that were known to be at the base, which could have ignited a wider war.

But Trump has not sunk to the level of Obama in the eyes of Russia and China.

This was a blunder on the global chess board.
