ReplyDeleteMagnitsky's treatment by Russian prison authorities was logged contemporaneously, there exists photographic evidence of him having been beaten, and his complaints of being denied medical care for pancreatis etc.
The way he was treated in prison is a clue as to how the testimony of Russian-state actors giving self-exculpatory theories should be received.

ReplyDeleteI even have some doubts about that poisoning of Korean official at an airport. Why kill him so openly and brutally. Intelligence know how to bump people off without people suspecting. Fiddle with the cars brakes, or make it look like suicide. In the UK too many people involved in the dark underworld died in kinky sex experiments gone wrong. They were found with a plastic bag over their heads and an orange in their mouths. Apparently cutting off the oxygen supply increases the orgasm. Come on!
