Alt Left = Progressives

Alt Right and Alt Left are terms coined by the Alt Right as memes that avoid associations that they don't wish to make publicly (white nationalists, neo-Nazis) and to create a false equivalence between the "far right and far left." The purpose of such memes is to normalize the abnormal in public discourse. The media is going along with this, to some degree witlessly. But professional journalists should know better and not be taken in by crude persuasion techniques and propaganda.
