Jimmy Dore - Media Already Pushing War With Iran

Guess what, Iran is now being accused of influencing US elections, as well as China and Korea. The public is getting primed for war with Iran, says Jimmy Dore. To us that know, the whole thing it's a stupid joke, except millions could die. The lies they put out are infantile. How could the US be so cruel? And the unsuspecting public have no idea.

As RussiaGate continues, Iran is becoming a new scapegoat. With Abby Martin and Mike Prysner.

FRN has been made aware that Iranian Revolutionary Guards Chief, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, just hours ago declared that Iran has fully liberated the Gulf and Strait of Hormuz from foreign and hostile subjugation. Iran had been conducting ‘drills’ in the area, beginning in mid-June, and supported by the Chinese Navy, when the drill went ‘live’.

This was a confirmation of the statement by Alireza Tangsiri, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard’s navy chief, saying the same. Iran has confirmed that any number of friendly and neutral states will continue to have full commercial access to the strategic water-way. China has confirmed its support for today’s major move on the part of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

  4. This is not actually about Iran, and both Russia and China know it. The US is out to strangle Russia and China.

  5. From the FRN post:

The official IRNA news agency said the start of major drill in the lead-up to today’s major event, occurred on Sunday June 17th, and included an Iranian warship and two Chinese destroyers, a logistics ship and one helicopter. The Chinese flotilla ‘went to Oman’ after the naval exercise, state-run Xinhua also confirmed in their report. Iran has confirmed that Oman will continue to have access, despite pressures from Saudi Arabia and Israeli. The Chinese flotilla is still stationed in Oman, and in connection with this, are the official reports dating back to May that China and Oman have entered into a military-strategic partnership.

  6. Tom Hickey: "Iran has fully liberated the Gulf and Strait of Hormuz from foreign and hostile subjugation" What does this mean? I mean what are Iran's intentions with this statement?

  7. It's a claim. The question is what is backing it up? I don't know.

  8. The important matter in the background, not mentioned in the Western that I am aware of, is the presence of China militarily.

China, like Japan prior to WWII, is an energy importer and relies on sea-borne supplies.

The Anglo-American Empire is a seal power rather than a land power. It's strategy is to control the seas (as well as air and space). It's weakness is fight land wars, especially in distant place, which require lengthy and potentially vulnerable supply lines.

China must therefore either break the American lock on the power to close off sea routes, which would create an energy embargo for China, as the US did with Japan. The Japanese had no choice but to cave or go to war. China is in the same position now.

So China must either develop other way to supply its energy needs or else confront the US control of the sea. This is what the action in the Gulf and the South China Sea is really about, not "freedom of navigation." For the US, "freedom of navigation means freedom to close choke points.

Iran is turning this back on the US and apparently China is on board, as one might expect strategically. China has also declared that it will not observe sanction imposed on third-parties deal with Iran that exceed the US mandate. The US has no new UN mandate, so China is claiming that the US action is outside the law, hence, void.

The run-up to WWIII is underway as the Anglo-American Empire confronts its major competitor before China becomes too strong for the US to do so.

Right good point as we’ve never done that...

Long term doesn’t matter anyway as we’re leaving that hell hole anyway so Saudi and Gulf states better hurry up with their pipeline expansions over to the Suez...
