Nafeez Ahmed - Unworthy victims: Western wars have killed four million Muslims since 1990

Landmark research proves that the US-led ‘war on terror’ has killed as many as 2 million people, but this is a fraction of Western responsibility for deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan over the last two decades

Last month, the Washington DC-based Physicians for Social Responsibility (PRS) released a landmark study concluding that the death toll from 10 years of the “War on Terror” since the 9/11 attacks is at least 1.3 million, and could be as high as 2 million.
The 97-page report by the Nobel Peace Prize-winning doctors’ group is the first to tally up the total number of civilian casualties from US-led counter-terrorism interventions in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The PSR report is authored by an interdisciplinary team of leading public health experts, including Dr. Robert Gould, director of health professional outreach and education at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, and Professor Tim Takaro of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University.
Yet it has been almost completely blacked out by the English-language media, despite being the first effort by a world-leading public health organisation to produce a scientifically robust calculation of the number of people killed by the US-UK-led “war on terror”?

  1. I saw that video of the young Libyan boy and it deeply disturbed me. I just hope there is a heaven, that's all, to make up for all the suffering there is in the world.

  2. Some people believe that before we are born, we plan all the major events in our lives, including our suffering, in order to experience the events, so that we may spiritually evolve. We plan them with the help of spirit guides.

In this view, each experience is a learning experience. For example, if I am a man, then no amount of books about being a woman can equal the experience of being a woman.

According to this perspective, we still have free will, and we can choose to avoid experiencing what we came to experience (e.g. we can commit suicide). But if we do that, we will keep facing the same experience (in one form or another) until we finally go through it.

Moreover, according to this perspective, people like that Libyan boy are highly evolved souls who catapult their progress by choosing to go through what lesser-evolved souls could not withstand.

I don’t know if any of this is true, but I like to imagine that it is. It keeps me from cracking.

  3. Oh...and when a soul like that Libyan boy goes through his nightmare, he helps others to spiritually evolve as well. He experiences agony for the benefit of himself and others. You said that the video "disturbed" you. That feeling is one aspect of spiritual evolution.

  4. To save Matt the bother:

No one died. They all either killed themselves or dressed up as U.S. servicemen and killed their own, to spite us because we're so good. [Add irrelevant passage from the Bible]

No one died in Puerto Rico. Fake news! We're winning!!! [Add another entirely irrelevant passage from the Bible]

Jesus came to give us fiat money. You're all biased antiwar liberal morons who don't understand material systems....arts degrees...stochastic bullshit...evolution bullshit... [Yet another entirely irrelevant passage from the Bible]

Hope everyone in the world dies. [Another passage from the Bible]

    Material systems...

  7. Konrad: According to Seth there are no accidents. We each plan our incarnations before and during the event. At night in our sleep we plan our days according to our beliefs. The people who suffer from war may be trying to enlighten others but they may also believe that they are victims that live in an evil world. It just depends on their beliefs. They could believe in guilt and punishment and feel that they are paying for things they have done in other lifetimes. Regardless of why they have brought such things on themselves there is no justification for what was done to them and the people who committed such atrocities will have to face there own actions at the end of this lifetime. We are responsible for what we do. As far as Jews who believe that there is no life after life or Christians who believe that they are going to do whatever the hell they want and Jesus is going to save them, I believe that they have another thing coming. Some who think they are going to kill and maim others and get by with it may end up on the other end of the stick before all of their lifetimes are over. It behoves everyone to examine his beliefs and change the ones that are detrimental.

  8. And there would probably be 5 million dead if US never retaliated....

  9. There are probably more people killed in Chicago on a summer weekend than Palestinian killed by Israel in the last 10 years....

  10. Matt, I deplore the personal abuse you have been getting, but there have been many Palestinians killed by Israel over the last 10 years. I've spent a summer in Chicago, and it isn't like that at all. This is easy to check; it is like shooting fish in a barrel for the Israelis.

What is the point of ignoring and denying easily available evidence and figures, mountains of them? As Konrad does too when he says that 5- 6 million Jews (& around the same number of communists, Slavs, Gypsies etc) were NOT killed by Hitler?

  11. There are thousands of shootings in Chicago every year...

Why all the fuss about Palestinians??? We have plenty of problems of our own...

  12. Because the Israeli Palestinian issue is the biggest reason for tensions in the Middle East, where all our oil is. :-) If it had been solved 30 or 50 years ago say, then that region would very likely be quite peaceful and prosperous.

And because a great deal of the problem is the fault of the USA. The US pretended to be an "honest broker" & once or twice it has been. But almost always, the USA has grossly favored Israel, who has almost always been the aggressor, and the USA has favored the craziest people in Israel. There is a great deal of "blowback" that empowers the craziest and most bloodthirsty elements in the USA.

If Reagan (unlike Carter, who said no) hadn't let Israel invade Lebanon under the emptiest of pretexts and destroyed the towers of Beirut, bin-Laden probably wouldn't have done 9-11 and destroyed the WTC towers; he said the 1982 invasion was what radicalized him.

Cool. The idiotic six million™ myth has now expanded to twelve million. Why not make it 24? Hell, why not make it 48 billion?

Matt, I deplore the personal abuse you have been getting…

And I deplore the personal abuse that Stanko has been giving.

Guys, please. The two of you are embarrassing to watch. Have the decency to get a room.
