Off- Guardian - Intelligence Veterans Warn of US-Russia Conflict in Syria

A group of veteran intelligence officers calling themselves the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, have composed an open memo to President Donald Trump, warning of the very real possibility of a US-Russia conflict in Syria.

They assert the need for Western voices to call for the remnants of al-Nusra and al-Qaeda to surrender, rather than continuing to support them, and highlight the dangers of accidental escalation should the US (or their allies) attempt to strike Syrian government forces.

The idea that World War III could start, by accident, because an American tomahawk missile hits a Russian base instead of a Syrian base, or because American planes are brought down by Russian anti-air missiles is an ominous one. One that we, in the alternate media, have been striving to communicate for nearly two years…but that gets little – if any – coverage in mainstream channels

These are important words, and a vital message, at a dangerous time.

MEMORANDUM FOR: The President
FROM: Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity
SUBJECT: Moscow Has Upped the Ante in Syria
Mr. President:
We are concerned that you may not have been adequately briefed on the upsurge of hostilities in northwestern Syria, where Syrian armed forces with Russian support have launched a full-out campaign to take back the al-Nusra/al-Qaeda/ISIS-infested province of Idlib. The Syrians will almost certainly succeed, as they did in late 2016 in Aleppo. As in Aleppo, it will mean unspeakable carnage, unless someone finally tells the insurgents theirs is a lost cause.
That someone is you. The Israelis, Saudis, and others who want unrest to endure are egging on the insurgents, assuring them that you, Mr. President, will use US forces to protect the insurgents in Idlib, and perhaps also rain hell down on Damascus. We believe that your senior advisers are encouraging the insurgents to think in those terms, and that your most senior aides are taking credit for your recent policy shift from troop withdrawal from Syria to indefinite war.
Big Difference This Time
Russian missile-armed naval and air units are now deployed in unprecedented numbers to engage those tempted to interfere with Syrian and Russian forces trying to clean out the terrorists from Idlib. We assume you have been briefed on that — at least to some extent. More important, we know that your advisers tend to be dangerously dismissive of Russian capabilities and intentions.
We do not want you to be surprised when the Russians start firing their missiles. The prospect of direct Russian-U.S. hostilities in Syria is at an all-time high. We are not sure you realize that.
The situation is even more volatile because Kremlin leaders are not sure who is calling the shots in Washington. This is not the first time that President Putin has encountered such uncertainty (see brief Appendix below). This is, however, the first time that Russian forces have deployed in such numbers into the area, ready to do battle. The stakes are very high.
We hope that John Bolton has given you an accurate description of his acerbic talks with his Russian counterpart in Geneva a few weeks ago. In our view, it is a safe bet that the Kremlin is uncertain whether Bolton faithfully speaks in your stead, or speaks INSTEAD of you.
The best way to assure Mr. Putin that you are in control of U.S. policy toward Syria would be for you to seek an early opportunity to speak out publicly, spelling out your intentions. If you wish wider war, Bolton has put you on the right path.
If you wish to cool things down, you may wish to consider what might be called a pre-emptive ceasefire. By that we mean a public commitment by the Presidents of the U.S. and Russia to strengthen procedures to preclude an open clash between U.S. and Russian armed forces. We believe that, in present circumstances, this kind of extraordinary step is now required to head off wider war.

  1. What IQ do these "intelligence" veterans have? I thought it was obvious the Syria shambles was basically a US versus Russia show....:-)

  2. These professionals with decades of experience, and not only them, see also Col. Lang's site Sic Semper Tyrannis, are warning that during the Cold War it was policy to avoid direct confrontation with nuclear peers. Now that policy is apparently no longer in force and these folks are warning that things could go wildly wrong with calculations based on assuming that it's Russia that will blink first. and they would be right.

  3. Al Jazeera says that Google has shut down YouTube channels for the Syrian Presidency, plus the Syrian Ministry of Defense, plus the Syrian government news network (SANA).

"This account has been terminated for a violation of YouTube's Terms of Service."

Truth is a violation of YouTube rules.

In other news, the International Criminal Court has always been a pawn of the Empire, and indicts whoever the Empire wants indicted. However the ICC is now considering prosecuting US servicemen for torturing prisoners in Afghanistan.

Therefore John Bolton (the Death Walrus) today called the ICC “illegitimate.” Trump is threatening to sanction the ICC, which is in the Netherlands. Trump wants to bar judges and prosecutors with the ICC from entering the US, and confiscate any money they have in the USA.

Also, Bolton proudly announced today that the State Department will obey Israeli orders by closing the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) office in Washington D.C.

  4. Bill Binney probably has one of the highest IQ's in the world.

It started out as a U.S. Vs Syria show but the Russians got called in. I never thought i would be seeing anything like this in the modern world because I thought we had learned from the world wars. But I watched a film a few years back that said WW2 was a money making racket which was dragged on by those making a killing. It struck home and made sense and was chilling, but could mankind really be that evil? Now we see it playing out again, for every trillion they spend on a war, they get 10 trillion back.

Will it ever stop and will these people put trail for crimes against humanity? Can they ever be caught and brought to justice for the mass murderers that they are? To bring the world to the brink of WW3 to make a profit is incomprehensible. What's in their minds? They can only be barking mad. This is so crazy that I'm now wondering if the conspiracy theorists are right, that they are Satanists and perverts. The dregs of mankind. Pure evil.

Yes, and it wasn’t only WW2. A book published just after WW I was titled, The triumph of unarmed forces (1914-1918)

Co-authored by British Admiral Montagu Consett, it explains how the Allies prolonged the First World War by sending supplies to German forces whenever Germany’s forces were in retreat, and by denying supplies to German forces whenever Germany's forces were advancing. [“Supplies” meaning food, coal, petroleum, war materiel, etc.]

The Anglo-American Empire did this in order to generate war profits while wearing down and ultimately destroying the Ottoman Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the German Empire, and the Romanov (Russian) Empire.

Admiral Consett (the book’s author) knew about this program because he administered it. The program was directed by a cabal of Jewish bankers in the UK, USA, and Germany. Two of them from Germany (Paul Warburg and Jacob Schiff) co-founded the U.S. Federal Reserve System in 1914, just as WW I broke out. They also bankrolled the Bolshevik Revolution.

The First World War was a bankers’ war.

    See
    http://www.revisionist.net/hysteria/bankers.html

When war broke out in 1914, everyone thought it would last a few weeks or months, and it would have, if the Anglo-American Empire had not intentionally stretched it out, causing tens of millions of extra deaths and casualties.

The triumph of unarmed forces (1914-1918) was such a bombshell that the Nabu Press in Charleston, South Carolina considered it to be historically significant. So in 2010 they reproduced the original book…

WW I was contrived by bankers (mostly Jewish) in the US, UK, and Germany all conspiring to destroy the old world and establish a “new world order” with bankers in charge.

(Central bankers have no national allegiances. Nazi banker Hjalmar Schacht was sentenced to be hanged after WW II, but he was saved by Montagu Norman, head of the Bank of England. The two bankers were close friends throughout the war. Norman was even godfather to one of Schacht's grandchildren. In the fall of 1939, two months after the outbreak of World War II, Norman supported transfers of Czech gold to Hitler's Germany. Again, central bankers have no national allegiances.)

Yes. For the Anglo-American military, “victory” means never-ending war. The USA will continue to be at war until the USA collapses from internal corruption.

The Roman Empire was continually at war (with a few short breaks) until Marcus Aurelius died in 180 AD. After that, the Empire rapidly declined and became extinct because of internal corruption. As the Roman Empire died, it went through the same social phases as today’s Anglo-American Empire. Men became feminized. Paedophilia became normalized. Identity politics and gender dysphoria became rampant (e.g. LGBTXYZ mutants).

    Cue Carroll Quigley

"The powers of financial capitalism had (a) far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank... sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

  7. Thanks Tom and Konrad for the info. Carroll Quigle's book is massive, was he on the left or right?

  8. Quigley is difficult to pin down to a stereotype but he categorized himself as a conservative defending the liberal tradition as the pinnacle of Western civilization, which is the most advanced at this time. He was a world historian.

Here are some more quotes. You will see why he doesn't fit into a standard box. He thought that "right" and "left" was part of the BS. He knew how the system actually works.
