University of Colorado — How ideas go viral in academia: Where idea starts is key
How ideas move through academia may depend on where those ideas come from as much as their quality, a new study suggests.
Well that’s been obvious for a long time. For example we all knew Kenneth Rogoff was talking BS with his pro-austerity / fiscal consolidation message during the crisis. But he’s based at H-A-R-V-A-R-D. So that means, in the eyes of the numpties who make up most of the population, that he must have some sort of fantastically clever point.
Same goes for Summers with his yawn provoking “secular stagnation” idea.
