Julia Naftulin - A Harvard geneticist is creating a dating app that matches users based on DNA, and people are worried it's eugenics

The world is getting more complicated. It sounds like a good idea, but some people mignt have trouble finding a partner if it gets out they have some dodgy genes.

Your genetic code will remain confidential, and the app will only warn you of a bad match.

"About 5 percent of children are born with a severe genetic disease, and so that means you're compatible with about 95 percent of people," Church said on "60 Minutes." "We're just adding this [tool] to all the other dating criteria."

  1. It's not eugenics.

    • “Julia Naftulin ― A Harvard geneticist is creating a dating app that matches users based on DNA, and people are worried it’s eugenics.” This is the title of a post on a blog that claims to be “An economics, investment, trading and policy blog with a focus on Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). We seek the truth, avoid the mainstream and are virulently anti-neoliberalism.”

    • On YouTube, one Amazing Polly claims that Mr. Epstein sponsored Harvard geneticists. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XposZwIYoNE&t=485s

    • The New York Times shows a photo documenting that Mr. Epstein and Harvard economist Larry Summers were best buddies.

    • If you think that makes Larry Summers persona non grata in the American Economic Association you are mistaken. On a Tweet, he features prominently on the panel of economic authorities at #ASSA2020.

This is a bit spooky when one considers that the economist Malthus inspired Darwin and that Keynes was Director of the British Eugenics Society 1937-1944.#1
