New SARS-like virus can jump directly from bats to humans, no treatment available

Findings provide an opportunity to develop drugs and vaccines for coronaviruses before they emerges from animals to cause a human epidemic: Date: November 10, 2015

Margaret Thatcher said that the government budget was like a household budget, and it meant we were living beyond our means.

The Conservatives said that Austerity would bring about a thriving economy, so they would have to make the necessary cut backs.

The conservatives said that socialists like spending other people's money.

The neoliberals said private is good, public is bad.

Lots of people cheered on the new paradigm.

Researchers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have discovered a new bat SARS-like virus that can jump directly from its bat hosts to humans without mutation. However, researchers point out that if the SARS-like virus did jump, it is still unclear whether it could spread from human to human.

The discovery, reported in the Nov. 9 issue of Nature Medicine, is notable not only because there is no treatment for this newly discovered virus, but also because it highlights an ongoing debate over the government's decision to suspend all gain of function experiments on a variety of select agents earlier this year. The move has put a substantial standstill on the development of vaccines or treatments for these pathogens should there be an outbreak.

  2. And Boris Johnson lauds the healthcare system only because it SAVED HIS FUCKING LIFE. Yet conservatives in Britain put through massive cuts to NHS over the years.

  6. Boris ran on with double speech. He said one thing to look good but documents showed other plans making it easier to sell out the NHS.

  7. Remember Boris was the one who said that he had talked to the lab about the Skripals and the the lab clearly and undoubtedly had said that the poison was from Russia. This was an interview on German DW. A few weeks later the boss at the lab got the question about the poisons and he said they can’t say where it came from.

That’s Boris in a nut shell. He lies as easy as he farts after a can of beans..
