Whistleblowers silenced by China could have stopped global coronavirus spread | 60 Minutes Australia

I'm not one for demonising China, but according to the virus expert in this video the Chinese Government suppressed the evidence about its outbreak? Trump gets just as much criticism as is seems both he and Xi cared more about the economy.

The virus expert in this video says the worst is yet to come this summer, and then even more next winter, but it could have been prevented, she says.

  1. I hope that nobody believes this scremongoring BS. I new about new coronavirus mid january while reports from china started before NewYear. Te first US case was confirmed around February 1. Wat was done by the world a month after reports started coming from China?. Nothing. Nothing was done even two months later.
In my country the preventions began around March 8 when the first case was discovered. It came from Itally, but now we know it came in other ways too.
Even if everybody knew about it 6 months earlier nothing would have been done to stop it as this scarremongoring lady says. Its a BS. No contry did anything before the first cases. Some countries are not doing much even now. But BS lady claims it could have been prevented. Crazy warmognoring idiots wanna to take the blame off their own inaction. Like if somethig could have been done earlier anyway. Just crazy talk. Idiots want wars to get off of important topics in domestic arena.

    1. I appreciate that comment, critical thinker. The whole article did sound like propaganda, but I try to be balanced, and it criticised Trump too. I sometimes put out articles for discussion, which doesn't mean endorsement.

    2. It was a horrible article really, which upset me on several levels. The demonisation of China, plus the thought that it could have been prevented. I might take it down later.

  3. China did waste time, unlike Taiwan. The problem with China is that they are a crucible for new strains of influenza. There is much to criticize, from their government to certain elements of their culture. Get over it.

  4. Anyone that did not buy masks and gloves before Feb 1st, has no right to critisize anyone for slaking.Pretending to be smart in a hindsight is really low.

  5. Apart from a handful of nations, the response to the pandemic has been marked by unpreparedness, incompetence, and authoritarianism. Why don't we focus on those nations who got it right?
