  1. Successfully avoiding the microscopic will impact your enjoyment of life.

  2. "Importantly, of the countries performing contact tracing properly, only a single outbreak has been reported from an outdoor environment (less than 0.3% of traced infections)."

Hell, testing equipment and resources are still not adequate countrywide, let alone any serious measures in place for contact tracing.

We're doomed, I tell you. Doomed!

"Successfully avoiding the microscopic will impact your enjoyment of life."

Successfully avoiding the nasty "microscopics" will positively impact your enjoyment of life. Ergo, some nasty "microscopics" to avoid by being cautious and smart: Herpes and HIV. Sorry but too many fools out there taking unnecessary risks even before this coronavirus pandemic.

So, my kid yesterday evening didn't feel like eating fish:

Kid: I don't feel like having fish.

Me: You should be so lucky. You know that millions of kids in America go to bed hungry each night? Count your blessings that yiayia and pappou (my parents) had the good sense and foresight to immigrate to Canada rather than America. Now eat your fish.

Kid: You're right as always, dad. [Big and grateful smile]

Me: And don't forget to call yiayia and pappou after supper to wish them a good night and also a big thank you for choosing Canada.

    Kid: Yes!

Me: Good, and remember that tomorrow we're doing a quick math review before we move on to probability and statistics, so don't stay up to late.

Kid: Roger that, dad. [Big thumbs up]

  4. One type of Herpes is found in 95% of the population. It's usually dormant, hiding out in your ganglia. Odds are not in your favour, lastgreek.

Some people enjoy wearing masks, and de-sanitizing everything and everyone they meet. It may be that OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) is more prevalent than we thought. The pandemic was a catalyst, or a catharsis.

  5. PP,

Let me briefly tell you about my first cousin Frank on my father's side. He's very tall (c. 6'4"), dark, and super ugly. As for his disposition, he's a mean, short-tempered S.O.B. that you should count yourself lucky if you've never crossed his path -- and those are his positive assets!

Me, I'm the opposite of my first cousin. I'm average height (5'9"), fair, and incredibly handsome. I am kind, caring, and of cheerful disposition -- a man of good character.

So what's my point? Well, my point is to show that even though my cousin and I come basically from the same family, and a big family at that, he and I are total opposites, both physically and character-wise. This applies to viruses, too. You see, Herpes viruses are a very large family, thus not all Herpes viruses are alike (have the same properties). Some are relatively harmless, just like the one you probably referenced (though I think that 95% figure is too high), and some such as genital herpes are relatively nasty. The nasty fella was the one I was referring to. Of course, with caution and smarts it, like HIV, can be avoided... just like my cousin Frank :)
